Digital Program Manager - Shipping & Logistics

Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Digital Program Manager with strong expertise in the Shipping & Logistics domain to lead and coordinate complex digital transformation programs across business and technology teams.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end digital programs, including program planning, governance, stakeholder management, delivery, risk management, vendor coordination, and business transformation.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipping, transportation, freight, warehouse, port/terminal, supply chain, and logistics processes, combined with experience delivering technology programs involving ERP, TMS, WMS, CRM, cloud, data, integration, automation, and digital platforms. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram ManagementLead and manage large-scale digital transformation programs from initiation through delivery and post-go-live. Define program objectives, scope, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and success criteria. Develop and maintain detailed program plans, roadmaps, budgets, resource plans, and delivery timelines. Coordinate multiple projects and workstreams running in parallel. Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and according to agreed quality standards. Establish program governance, reporting structures, and decision-making processes. Track program KPIs, milestones, benefits realization, and overall delivery performance. Shipping & Logistics TransformationWork closely with business stakeholders to understand shipping and logistics processes and pain points. Lead digital initiatives covering areas such as: Transportation Management Warehouse Management Freight Management Shipment Tracking Order Management Port and Terminal Operations Carrier Management Customer Service Freight Billing and Costing Supply Chain Management Route and Transportation Optimization Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through digitalization, automation, analytics, and technology modernization. Translate business requirements into digital transformation initiatives and actionable roadmaps. Technology & Digital TransformationCoordinate implementation and integration of enterprise platforms such as: Microsoft Dynamics 365 / D365FO TMS WMS CRM ERP Cloud platforms Data and analytics platforms API and integration platforms Customer and supplier portals Work with architecture and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise technology standards. Oversee system integrations between ERP, TMS, WMS, CRM, shipping platforms, carriers, customers, and external partners. Support adoption of cloud, automation, AI, analytics, and other emerging technologies where appropriate. Ensure technology solutions support business scalability and operational requirements. Stakeholder ManagementAct as the primary point of contact between business, IT, vendors, partners, and senior leadership. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, IT, and Digital teams. Facilitate workshops, steering committees, program reviews, and executive presentations. Communicate program status, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders. Manage expectations and resolve conflicts across multiple teams and business units. Vendor & Partner ManagementCoordinate with external technology vendors, system integrators, consultants, and logistics partners. Manage vendor deliverables, milestones, SLAs, contracts, and performance. Review and challenge vendor plans, estimates, risks, and proposed solutions. Coordinate multiple suppliers and technology partners across different workstreams. Risk, Issue & Dependency ManagementIdentify and proactively manage program-level risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies. Establish mitigation and contingency plans. Escalate critical issues appropriately and drive them through to resolution. Manage dependencies between technology, business, infrastructure, data, integration, and operational workstreams. Change Management & AdoptionLead organizational change activities associated with digital transformation programs. Develop stakeholder engagement and communication plans. Coordinate training, user readiness, business adoption, and transition activities. Ensure new digital solutions are successfully adopted by operational and business users. Testing & DeploymentCoordinate SIT, UAT, integration testing, performance testing, deployment, cutover, and go-live activities. Ensure business readiness and operational acceptance before production deployment. Coordinate post-go-live stabilization and transition to support teams. Track defects, business issues, and remediation activities. Governance & ReportingPrepare weekly and monthly program status reports. Maintain program dashboards covering: Schedule Budget Scope Risks Issues Dependencies Resources Benefits KPIs Lead steering committee meetings and provide executive-level reporting. Ensure program documentation and governance artifacts are maintained accurately. Required Skills & ExperienceProgram ManagementStrong experience as a Digital Program Manager, IT Program Manager, Transformation Program Manager, or Senior Program Manager. Proven experience managing large, complex, multi-workstream digital transformation programs. Strong knowledge of program governance, delivery methodologies, risk management, budgeting, and stakeholder management. Experience working with geographically distributed teams. Shipping & Logistics DomainStrong understanding of one or more of the following:Shipping Logistics Freight Transportation Supply Chain Warehouse Operations Port / Terminal Operations Carrier Management Shipment Management Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Freight Management Order Management Technology ExperienceExperience managing programs involving one or more of:Microsoft Dynamics 365 / D365FO TMS / WMS ERP / CRM Cloud platforms – Azure / AWS API and system integration Data migration Data & Analytics Digital platforms Automation AI / GenAI Customer portals EDI / partner integrations Methodologies & ToolsAgile / Scrum Waterfall / Hybrid delivery Program governance Jira Azure DevOps MS Project Confluence Power BI RAID management Budget and resource management Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Agile/Scrum Master, or equivalent certification is desirable. 8+ years of experience in IT/program management, with significant experience managing digital transformation initiatives. Experience working with global shipping, logistics, transportation, or supply chain organizations is highly preferred. Experience managing programs across Europe/Nordic countries is an advantage.
