We are recruiting a Director of Construction for one of Europe’s fastest-growing, private-equity-backed data centre developers. The company is at the forefront of the AI infrastructure revolution, designing and delivering ultra-high-density, sustainable, and modular data centres across key European growth markets. Backed by significant private equity funding, they are aggressively expanding their European footprint with a pipeline of greenfield and industrial site developments. They rely on modular engineering, prefabricated M&E solutions, and direct liquid cooling to build faster and more efficiently than legacy operators. As Director of Construction, you will take end-to-end operational ownership of multi-site build programmes across Europe, transitioning projects from breaking ground through to mechanical completion, testing, and handover. Key ResponsibilitiesEuropean Portfolio Execution: Direct and oversee end-to-end site delivery for a high-growth European pipeline of mission-critical data centresGeneral Contractor Management: Lead the procurement, selection, and commercial/operational management of tier-1 General Contractors, EPCs, and specialised trade sub-contractors across multiple European jurisdictionsModern Methods of Construction (MMC): Drive accelerated delivery strategies utilising off-site manufacturing, factory-tested modular M&E systems, and industrialised construction techniquesCommercial & Risk Oversight: Maintain total accountability for capital expenditure budgets, execution schedules, safety (HSE), quality assurance, and dispute resolution on FIDIC/NEC/JCT contractsCross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Site Acquisition, Utility/Power Infrastructure, M&E Design, and C-suite leadership to convert development pipelines into operational capacity on time and within budgetTeam Building: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing on-site project management and site execution teams across Europe

Candidate Requirements15+ Years Experience: Proven track record leading large-scale, complex critical infrastructure construction programmes (Data Centres heavily preferred; energy, semiconductor, or high-tech industrial builds considered)GC or Developer Background ONLY: You must have built your career directly within a General Contractor (GC) or a Data Centre Developer/OperatorEuropean Project Track Record: Demonstrated experience successfully delivering multi-million Euro capital projects across continental Europe or the UKInnovative Engineering Knowledge: Familiarity with high-density M&E systems, off-site modular build methodologies, and complex cooling/power topologiesCommercial Acumen: Deep mastery of European contract administration, claim management, risk mitigation, and supply chain accelerationLocation & Mobility: Based anywhere in Europe with willingness to travel regularly to site locations as projects move into execution phases.
