Director of Engineering, CTV Devices — €850–1000 p/d | 12 months | EMEA Remote We're speaking to interim engineering leaders who can take ownership of an entire device estate across Roku, iOS and tvOS, Android and Android TV, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Vizio. Not one platform deeply, but all of them coherently. The mandates usually look like one of these: Consolidating a fragmented device estate onto a shared layer, or unpicking a shared layer that didn't workRebuilding a device org after a reorg, acquisition or offshore unwindDriving a playback quality programme where startup time, rebuffering and error rates have become a board-level numberTaking a platform from three device targets to ten ahead of a launch or a rights deal What you'd own: 20 to 60 engineers across several squads, usually multi-country, usually including managersPlatform strategy and the native-versus-shared decision, with evidence behind itRelease governance across a dozen app stores with entirely different certification regimesDevice fragmentation, certification and the smart TV long tailHiring and retaining senior device engineers in a genuinely scarce marketA seat with product, content and commercial rather than a line beneath them You'll fit if you have: Depth in at least two device platforms and credibility across the restExperience running managers, not only engineersPrior interim or turnaround experience, or a track record of landing quickly in a new orgScale where playback failure had a measurable revenue consequence 5V Video are acting as an Employment Business for the purposes of this job vacancy.
