A global engineering and technology company is seeking an experienced Partner Technical Lead to lead the technical relationship with a strategic telecommunications partner across Europe.
About the Role
This is a senior engineering position combining R&D, systems architecture, solution integration, and technical customer leadership. You will work at the forefront of next-generation wireless and satellite communications, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to transform advanced technologies into commercially deployed services.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & R&D CollaborationAct as the primary engineering interface between internal R&D teams and strategic telecommunications partners.Drive the technical evolution of next-generation wireless and satellite-enabled communication solutions.Influence product architecture, feature development, and technology roadmaps based on partner requirements.Translate complex customer challenges into engineering requirements and product improvements.Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to the development of future network capabilities. Solution Architecture & Network IntegrationOwn the end-to-end technical solution from architecture through deployment and operational readiness.Design and integrate solutions across LTE, 5G, RAN, Core Network, IMS, OSS/BSS, transport, and satellite communication systems.Define deployment strategies, interface specifications, security requirements, and technical documentation.Lead system integration, interoperability activities, and multi-vendor deployments. Engineering Validation & TestingDefine validation strategies, acceptance criteria, and certification plans.Lead interoperability testing, feature validation, and production readiness reviews.Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and operational requirements.Support engineering verification of new technologies before commercial launch. Advanced Troubleshooting & Performance EngineeringLead investigation of complex system and network issues across multiple technology domains.Perform root cause analysis involving radio networks, core networks, satellite systems, cloud infrastructure, and software platforms.Drive corrective actions with software, hardware, systems, and operations engineering teams.Analyse network performance, KPIs, telemetry, and operational data to optimise service quality. Partner & Cross-Functional LeadershipBuild trusted technical relationships with strategic telecommunications customers.Lead architecture workshops, technical reviews, and deployment planning sessions.Coordinate engineering activities across R&D, Product Management, Operations, Service Assurance, and Program Management.Present technical recommendations and deployment strategies to senior technical and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.12+ years of experience in telecommunications, wireless communications, satellite communications, systems engineering, or network architecture.
Required Skills
Strong background in R&D or advanced engineering environments developing complex communication systems.Experience leading technically complex projects involving multiple engineering disciplines.Hands-on expertise in:LTE / 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN)4G/5G Core NetworksIMS, VoLTE, VoNROSS/BSSSystem integration and interoperabilityExperience with architecture design, solution engineering, and large-scale deployments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot across software, hardware, and network domains.Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Skills
Satellite communications or Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN).3GPP Rel-17/18 knowledge.Direct-to-Device (D2D) architectures.Cloud-native network functions (CNFs).Kubernetes and containerised environments.DevOps and CI/CD practices.IP networking (BGP, MPLS, OSPF, SD-WAN).Python, Bash, or automation scripting.Knowledge of telecommunications standards and regulatory frameworks.CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications.
