Head of Product Management - Unica

About the productUnica+ is HCL Software’s enterprise marketing platform. It covers campaign management, journey orchestration, real-time interaction management, a customer data platform and a customer data model layer. An AI agent layer runs across the modules.Customers are in North America, Europe, India and Asia Pacific. Most are large enterprises. The base is heavily BFSI and telecom. A significant number run on-premise or in a sovereign cloud, not public SaaS. This affects almost every roadmap decision. About the roleWe need a product leader to own the Unica+ roadmap and run the product management team.The person in this role decides what gets built and what does not. They set release strategy. They own how we are positioned against competitors at the top end, and against regional CDP vendors who compete on price. The product is shifting towards AI-assisted marketing operations and governed customer data. At the same time we have a large installed base with commitments that must be honoured. Both sit on the same roadmap. Key responsibilities:Own the multi-release roadmap across all Unica+ modules. Sequence it against revenue, renewal risk and competitive exposure.Build the business case for major investments and take it to senior leadership. This includes sizing at-risk or blocked revenue.Set direction for the AI agent capabilities. Scope, evaluation approach, guardrails, cost to serve.Own product requirements coming out of data residency and privacy regulation. GDPR and the EU AI Act, US state privacy laws, India’s DPDP Act and RBI localisation directives, and equivalent regimes in APAC. Deployment options must keep pace with what regulated buyers need in each market.Work with the decisioning and data governance initiatives elsewhere in the portfolio. Lineage, consent and governance should be handled once, not module by module.Partner with product marketing, sales and pre-sales on launch material, competitive positioning and enablement.Drive internal adoption of each release with regional sales leadership.Run a customer advisory programme with the top accounts.Engage directly on escalations where a product decision is the root cause.Represent the product with industry analysts. Briefings, enquiries, evaluation submissions.Hire, lead and develop a product management team spread across regions and time zones. Module PMs, technical PMs, product operations.Work with engineering leadership on release planning, quality and technical debt. Requirements:12+ years in product management. 5+ years managing product managers.Ownership of an enterprise B2B product with a large installed base.Depth in at least two of: campaign management, CDP, real-time decisioning, journey orchestration, marketing automation.Experience shipping across on-premise, private cloud and SaaS in the same product line.Track record of competing against larger vendors.Ability to build a business case and defend it commercially.Strong written communication. Most of this job is documents that other people act on.Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or equivalent is useful, not mandatory. Good to have:BFSI, telecom or public sector experience in more than one region.Production experience with LLM or agentic features in an enterprise product.Analyst relations, including Magic Quadrant or Wave submissions.Familiarity with data catalog, lineage and governance tooling.Displacement selling against an incumbent marketing cloud.Experience running a product function across time zones.
