About The Role
You'll design, build, and scale the core banking and partner platforms behind Salmon's products — the APIs, integrations, and shared components other engineering teams build on.
What You'll Do
Work on high-load, mission-critical systems where reliability directly affects live banking and lending productsBuild on a modern JVM stack — Kotlin, Ktor, jOOQ, coroutines, Arrow — running in Docker and Kubernetes on AWSInfluence architectural decisions on shared platform components used across the company
What You'll Own
Design and evolve banking APIs for mobile applications and internal and external servicesBuild scalable backend services in Kotlin and modern JVM technologiesDevelop public APIs, internal SDKs, and shared platform components other teams depend onImplement high-performance integrations with partners and third-party systemsContribute to the architecture, scalability, and reliability of the core banking and partner platforms
What Makes You a Strong Fit
5+ years in the JVM ecosystem, with strong expertise in Kotlin or JavaDeep understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programmingExperience designing systems with clean architectures — DDD and event-driven approachesSolid knowledge of distributed systems and their trade-offsHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably in an AWS environmentReadiness to work primarily in Kotlin
