Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, Configuration & Layout Engineering

We are looking for Junior Mechanical Design Engineers for positions within our Configuration Engineering and Layout Engineering teams. Depending on the role, you will focus either on customer-specific product configurations and modifications or on system-level layouts and 3D design. Your tasks will include mechanical design and engineering work for our cryogen-free dilution refrigerator systems, primarily using PTC Creo. In both roles, you will produce technical drawings and engineering documentation, maintain CAD data and documentation in PDM and ERP systems, and contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes, tools, and documentation. You will also collaborate closely with different teams across the organization.

In Layout Engineering, you will focus on creating and maintaining system layouts and 3D models. You will develop accurate layouts, assemblies, and technical drawings that support our products and customer deliveries, as well as update layouts and drawings based on engineering changes. You will also support the development and standardization of layout designs and work closely with Configuration Engineering, Site Planning, R&D, Product Management, and Manufacturing to ensure designs are accurate, up to date, and aligned with product requirements.

In Configuration Engineering, you will focus on customer-specific configurations and modifications of existing products. You will support the design of components and sub-systems, participate in engineering change projects, and create detailed manufacturing drawings. You will work closely with Sales, R&D, Product, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Testing teams, as well as with our suppliers.

To succeed in either role, you should have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline, together with hands-on experience with PTC Creo gained through studies, internships, thesis work, projects, or previous employment. You are eager to learn and develop professionally, have strong attention to detail, and take a systematic and careful approach to your work. You are committed to producing high-quality results and have good English language skills, both written and spoken. Final-year students and fresh graduates with hands-on PTC Creo experience are encouraged to apply.

In Layout Engineering, you will benefit from an interest in 3D CAD design, larger assemblies, and understanding how different components and systems fit together within an overall layout.

In Configuration Engineering, a good understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing, and assembly methods will help you succeed, as the role involves designing components and modifications that support customer-specific solutions.

You will stand out if you have an independent and hands-on approach to work, enjoy collaborating with others, and communicate well with different stakeholders. Previous experience with PDM systems is also considered an advantage. Most importantly, we appreciate curiosity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.

In Layout Engineering, experience with large assemblies, system layouts, or similar 3D CAD design is beneficial. An interest in understanding how different components and sub-systems come together within a larger system will also help you succeed.

In Configuration Engineering, previous experience with customer-specific mechanical design, manufacturing drawings, or engineering changes is an advantage. An understanding of how mechanical designs translate into manufacturing and assembly will also help you in the role.
