About the roleWe are looking for a Lead Product Designer who wants to shape a product that reduces emissions at sea, working alongside people who understand ship operations from the inside. We build the software that enables our Fleet Support Center to help clients reduce their costs, lower their emissions, and increase their operational efficiency. Our product combines opinionated, advanced analytics and a collaboration platform that ensures the right people work together to make a difference. As our first dedicated in-house designer and an integral part of our product team, you will also interact with our colleagues in Fleet Support Center Operations every week. That means you work closely with a group of people that includes product owners, former seafarers turned center operators, and PhD scientists and engineers – collaborating across disciplines to both build better software and deliver a better service. You will bring a designer's perspective to questions that today get answered through a technical or operational lens, and we believe that will make the product meaningfully better. The people using our product make recommendations and operational decisions every day that affect our clients’ ships across the globe, the people onboard those ships, and the ships’ fuel consumption and emissions. In figuring out how a workflow should feel, where complexity should live, and how to make the right thing the obvious thing for a busy vessel officer, we believe great design makes our product more impactful – and we are looking for someone who agrees. The position is based in Stockholm and travel will be required from time to time. Hybrid work is offered, with access to an inviting office in central Stockholm for interacting with colleagues, as well as the possibility to work some days per week remotely or based on specific agreement. We offer a range of benefits that strengthen your health and well-being, safety and career development, while we value flexibility and community. What you will be doingActively contribute to shaping product direction – bringing ideas and opportunities to the table that go beyond the current roadmap.Move fluidly between discovery and delivery – from facilitating early conversations around a product concept to ensuring it ships correctly.Get close to how we work – spend time with our center operators, join customer calls and occasionally visit vessels or customer offices to understand workflows in real depth.Turn ideas into sketches, wireframes and prototypes fast enough to drive the conversation that same week, enabling the team to test and refine concepts before they're built.Take ownership of UX and visual quality across the product – not just within individual features, but as an ongoing responsibility.Take the opportunity to establish the design system, component library and tooling that fit your needs and the team's.Produce design specifications and assets that give our development team what they need to implement features correctly, and stay involved through to shipped feature.Occasionally lend your eye and ideas to sales and communications material. Who you areYou have spent several years working on complex B2B or internal-facing software products. You pair that experience with real curiosity: you want to understand a problem and the people behind it deeply, then help the team build something better. You are comfortable moving between discovery and delivery: facilitating a product discussion one day, building a prototype the next, reviewing implementation details with engineers the day after. You are self-sufficient and proactive. You thrive as the sole designer in a team of people with deep and complementary expertise, you spot opportunities to improve things before anyone asks, and you follow through. You have strong opinions on UX quality – grounded in reasoning and evidence rather than trends or rules – and you can articulate and stand behind your reasoning. You have great communication skills and are fluent in English. You don’t need to tick every box above.
