About the client: Our client is an international financial technology company specializing in online trading and investment solutions. With over two decades of experience in the industry, the company provides access to global financial markets through its proprietary trading platforms, offering a wide range of instruments, including Forex, CFDs, commodities, indices, cryptocurrencies, and options. It focuses on developing innovative, user-friendly trading technologies and digital solutions for clients worldwide. Role SummaryThe Linux/Web SA will manage our Linux Server estate, help with changes to Nginx, contribute to managing our CDNs, Certificates, and DNS, manage some WordPress sites, and deploy Website and Web app changes. We have quite complex routing for our regional sites, so the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and routing issues would be helpful. If they can do more than this, such as being able to run our Windows deployment tools or follow SOPs to troubleshoot and restart a wider range of systems (including Windows Services/IIS), that would be perfect – but those are not core requirements. Key SkillsStrong Linux system administration skills, preferably with CentOS and AlmaLinux, including monitoring production systems, troubleshooting, escalation, and administering multiple serversProven experience deploying applications to staging and production environments with minimal downtime, and maintaining/updating deployment proceduresExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development and QA teamsPractical knowledge of infrastructure as code and configuration management using Ansible and Puppet, for provisioning new servers and updating existing infrastructureStrong skills configuring and maintaining LEMP (Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP) and MERN (MongoDB, Node.js) stacks in high-availability environmentsExperience managing high-traffic, load-balanced systems using NGINX (web serving, load balancing, reverse proxying), and caching mechanismsExperience with Memcached/Redis configuration and optimizationStrong understanding of web technologies including caching, proxying, content distribution, WebSockets, load balancing, and disaster recovery proceduresExperience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, and ELKUnderstanding of backup and disaster recovery concepts and best practicesExperience with version control tools (Git/GitHub)Ability to work cross-functionally to resolve production issues with minimal client impact, and to perform updates, patches, and maintenance across production and pre-production environments Core / important technologiesLinux administrationCentOS 6.3–7.4AlmaLinuxNGINXPHPNext.jsWeb server / web infrastructure administrationWordPress deploymentsInfrastructure / automationAnsibleTerraformDocker Part-Time (4-6 hours/day), Remote, B2B long term contract, EEST or UTC+3 time zone, weekend work is possible
