Job Description: Project Manager (Aladdin Sybase to SQL Server Migration)
Role TypeContract (B2B), 6 months, extendableLocation Remote, EU countriesRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager with prior experience at the client, ideally with exposure to the Aladdin platform and large-scale application modernization or database migration programs. You will lead planning, coordination, reporting, and execution oversight for migrating Aladdin-related applications from Sybase to Microsoft SQL Server.The role demands strong stakeholder management, application portfolio governance, migration planning, dependency tracking, and executive reporting across a large, complex technology landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end planning and delivery of migration wavesGovern the application portfolio across multiple owners and delivery teamsTrack risks, issues, dependencies, and milestonesPlan releases and cutoversProvide executive reporting and stakeholder communicationRequired Qualifications8+ years (minimum 6) of project management experience delivering enterprise technology programsPrior experience working at the client and with their stakeholder teamsTrack record managing large-scale application migration, modernization, infrastructure, or database transformation initiativesSolid grasp of SDLC, Agile delivery, governance, and release managementExperience managing complex application portfolios spanning multiple technologiesProficiency with Azure DevOps, Power BI, Microsoft Project (or comparable), and Jira (or similar)Strong risk, issue, dependency, milestone, and stakeholder managementExcellent communication, facilitation, executive reporting, and presentation skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience within the Aladdin ecosystemExposure to Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, database migrations, or data-platform modernizationFamiliarity with application discovery, dependency mapping, connection scanning, and migration-assessment toolsWorking awareness of Java, Python, Perl, C++, and enterprise application architecturesPMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certificationFinancial services, investment, or asset management domain experienceKey SkillsDelivery: Program and Project Management · Agile/Scrum · SDLC Governance · Release and Cutover Planning · Migration-Wave CoordinationDomain: Prior Client Engagement Experience · Aladdin Platform Exposure · Sybase to SQL Server Migration · Application Portfolio ManagementTools & Communication: Azure DevOps (ADO) · Power BI Reporting · Risk and Dependency Management · Stakeholder Management · Executive Communication
