Quantum Application Specialist

Intermodulation Products AB is a pioneering company developing advanced test and measurement equipment for the quantum technology sector. As we continue to expand the reach of our flagship Presto platform, we are looking for a highly technical and outgoing Quantum Application Engineer to join our team in Stockholm. In this role, you will be the crucial link between our technology and the global physics community. Your primary focus will be helping existing and potential customers understand how Presto can solve their most complex measurement needs across superconducting circuits, quantum sensing, computing, and communication. You will own and run live demonstrations using our in-house superconducting qubit setup, represent us at scientific conferences, and provide critical technical support for both sales and existing users. You will also travel to customer laboratories, spending time with researchers to deeply understand their experimental workflows and pain points, and bring those insights directly back to our development team. This role is perfect for a physicist who loves being hands-on with technology but finds it equally fun and energizing to interact with people. ResponsibilitiesHelp existing and potential customers understand how the Presto platform solves specific measurement challenges in quantum tech and RF.Own, maintain, and present live technical demonstrations using our superconducting qubit setup.Represent the company at international scientific conferences, presenting our products at the booth and engaging with fellow physicists.Partner with the sales team to provide technical pre-sales support and system configuration advice.Assist customers with high-level technical support questions and troubleshooting.Travel to customer labs to spend time on-site, understanding their measurement pain points and workflows.Act as the voice of the customer, forwarding field knowledge and feature requests to our internal development team. RequirementsPhD (preferred) or MSc in Physics, Applied Physics, Quantum Engineering, or a highly related field.Strong background in experimental physics with hands-on knowledge of microwave and low-temperature measurements.A highly technical mindset coupled with a strong willingness and enthusiasm to engage, network, and interact with fellow physicists.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex measurement concepts clearly.Willingness and ability to travel to scientific conferences and customer laboratories globally.Good written and spoken English. Meritorious Qualifications: You do not need to have experience in all of the areas below. Experience in one or more is considered an advantage:Experience with Python programming, specifically for data acquisition, instrument control, and data analysis.Previous experience in technical sales, field application engineering, or customer-facing scientific support.Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting dilution refrigerators or other cryogenic systems.Practical experience working directly with superconducting qubits or similar solid-state quantum devices.Familiarity with RF/microwave instrumentation (e.g., AWGs, VNAs, digitizers, spectrum analyzers).Experience with experimental control software and quantum measurement frameworks (e.g., QCoDeS, Labber, Qiskit Experiments).Basic understanding of FPGA-based signal processing. 📍 Stockholm, Sweden💼 Full-time, permanent positionIf you are interested in microwave control electronics and contributing to the development of quantum technologies, we would be pleased to hear from you.📩 Apply: careers@intermod.proApplications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
