Search & Retrieval Lead | Remote (UK, Portugal, Spain or Poland) I'm partnering with a fast growing technology company that is investing heavily in the future of search, retrieval and knowledge discovery. They're looking for a Search & Retrieval Lead to take ownership of a business critical search platform, helping users find the most relevant information from large volumes of structured and unstructured data through modern search technologies and AI-powered retrieval systems. What you'll doDesign and deliver production-grade search and retrieval systemsBuild hybrid search solutions using keyword, semantic and vector search techniquesOwn architecture decisions across retrieval, ranking and search relevanceEstablish evaluation, monitoring and feedback frameworks to continuously improve search quality What you'll needProven experience building and operating search platforms in productionStrong knowledge of Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr or LuceneHands-on experience with Hybrid Search, Vector Search, Semantic Search and RAGExperience measuring and improving search relevance through ranking, re-ranking and evaluation metrics Nice to haveKnowledge Graphs, Entity Linking or Recommendation SystemsExperience with OpenAI, Gemini, LangChain or LangGraphPython, GCP and BigQuery expertiseExperience working with large-scale unstructured datasets Please apply if you'd like to learn more.
