Senior Project Manager Join Griffdon EngineeringGriffdon Engineering is a leading electrical engineering contractor delivering mission-critical and data centre projects throughout Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major electrical construction packages on large-scale data centre projects. This role is suited to an ambitious project leader with a proven track record delivering complex electrical installations from design coordination and procurement through construction, commissioning and final handover. About the RoleReporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the safe, commercial and operational delivery of large-scale electrical fit-out works within a mission-critical environment. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary project teams responsible for electrical infrastructure, containment systems, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, telecommunications containment, testing, commissioning and project close-out activities. Key Responsibilities:Project LeadershipLead the overall delivery of electrical construction packages from mobilisation through to final handover.Manage Construction Managers, Package Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, QA/QC personnel, planners, commercial teams and subcontractors.Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives.Build and maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships.Design & Engineering ManagementManage the design coordination process across all project workstreams.Oversee BIM coordination, model development and clash resolution activities.Ensure technical submittals, RFIs, calculations, construction drawings and as-built documentation are submitted and approved in accordance with project requirements.Drive compliance with contractor design obligations and local code requirements.Coordinate specialist subcontractors and vendors to ensure successful integration of all systems.Electrical Package DeliveryOversee the installation, testing and commissioning of:Electrical containment systems and support steelwork.Lighting and emergency lighting systems.Small power installations.Fire alarm, PAVA and VESDA systems.Earthing and bonding systems.Telecommunications containment.Electrical fit-out equipment including panelboards, switchgear interfaces, ATS systems and associated infrastructure.External lighting and associated electrical services.Quality & CommissioningLead project QA/QC processes from commencement through completion.Manage inspection and test plans, quality inspections, benchmark installations and client walkdowns.Drive completion of W1, W2, W3 and final client inspections.Ensure all testing, commissioning and certification activities are completed.Manage snag close-out and turnover documentation.Oversee preparation and submission of O&M manuals, training documentation, warranties and final handover packs.Health, Safety & ComplianceChampion Griffdon's safety culture and ensure compliance with all project requirements.Lead site safety initiatives and ensure appropriate supervision, permits and controls are in place.Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical regulations, authority requirements and local legislation.Drive safety performance through proactive planning, auditing and engagement with site teams.Commercial & Programme ManagementMonitor project costs, labour productivity and forecasting.Support variation management, claims and change control procedures.Drive programme performance and recovery planning.Manage procurement schedules and long-lead equipment requirements.Lead weekly and monthly project reporting activities. Essential RequirementsProven experience delivering large-scale electrical construction projects.Experience in mission-critical, data centre, pharmaceutical or industrial environments.Strong understanding of electrical containment, lighting, power distribution and life safety systems.Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.Strong knowledge of commissioning and project handover processes.Excellent programme management and planning skills.Experience managing commercial performance, risk and change management.Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability. Desirable ExperienceDegree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.Previous experience delivering data centre electrical fit-out projects.Experience managing design coordination and BIM-driven projects.Familiarity with commissioning management systems and digital quality platforms.Experience working on European construction projects.
