Senior Simulation Engineer – Engine Development

We are looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer to join an engineering team focused on simulation-driven development of future engine concepts. The role will focus on gas exchange simulations, model calibration, test-data correlation, and continuous improvement of simulation methods.

Key Responsibilities

Propose and evaluate future engine concepts through simulation studies at different stages of the development process.Set up, calibrate, and perform gas exchange simulations using in-house simulation tools and commercial software such as GT-Power.Work closely with engine and component testing teams to correlate and calibrate simulation models using test data.Develop a good understanding of engine and component measurement methods to improve simulation accuracy and results.Analyze simulation results and provide technical input to support engine development decisions.Continuously improve simulation methods, processes, and ways of working.Identify opportunities for methodological and technical development within simulation activities.Collaborate with project teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver appropriate simulation solutions.Take ownership of individual and team deliveries and ensure high-quality results.Build and maintain effective technical relationships across internal and external teams.

Required Qualifications

Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical education.Education or training in Internal Combustion Engines (ICE).5+ years of relevant professional experience in simulation, engine development, or a related engineering field.Experience with GT-Power or similar simulation software.Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.Experience with simulation model calibration, validation, and correlation is highly desirable.Understanding of engine and component testing and measurement methods.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Gas exchange simulation and engine performance development.Engine and component test-data correlation.Numerical modelling and simulation.Experience working with simulation and testing teams.Development and improvement of simulation methodologies.Automotive, powertrain, or combustion-engine development experience.
