Senior vCISO / Information Security Consultant

Role Description The Senior vCISO / Information Security Consultant will act as a strategic security leader and advisor for Cypro AB’s clients, overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of their information security programs. This contract role is hybrid, based in Stockholm with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing current security postures, defining security roadmaps, developing and maintaining policies and procedures, and guiding organizations toward compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves leading risk assessments, overseeing security controls, coordinating incident response activities, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to align security initiatives with organizational objectives. The consultant will also mentor client teams, prepare executive-level reports, and contribute to business development by supporting proposals and security solution designs. QualificationsStrong experience in Information Security Management, including Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and governance frameworks.Proficiency in Cybersecurity and Network Security, with hands-on knowledge of security architectures, controls, and monitoring practices.Demonstrated expertise in Data Privacy, including regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR) and privacy-by-design principles.Ability to design and implement risk management processes, security policies, standards, and procedures across diverse environments.Experience serving as vCISO, CISO, or senior security consultant for mid-sized or large organizations.Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2) and audit/compliance activities.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present complex security topics to non-technical audiences.Proven capability to work in a hybrid setting in Stockholm, collaborating onsite with clients while managing tasks remotely.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or equivalent are highly beneficial.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
