Company Description GoWest – Nordic Venture Capital Forum is growing, and we are looking for a Social Media & Content Manager to strengthen our international presence, grow our audience and tell the stories of the people, companies and ideas shaping Europe's technological future. GoWest brings together investors, founders, industry leaders, academia and decision-makers from across Europe and beyond. As we build towards GoWest 2027, content and digital communication will play an important role in growing our community and strengthening GoWest's position internationally.Our ambition is to build a leading European forum at the intersection of capital, technology, industry and entrepreneurship – creating meaningful connections between the people investing in, building and scaling tomorrow's companies. Role Description This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing content across social media channels and other digital platforms to promote GoWest and its activities. Day-to-day tasks include managing social media calendars, crafting posts and stories, optimizing content for reach and engagement, and monitoring performance metrics. The role also involves collaborating with event and partner teams, developing content strategies for campaigns, covering live events on-site, and ensuring consistent brand messaging. The Social Media & Content Manager will engage with the community online, respond to inquiries, and identify opportunities to increase visibility among investors, startups, and scaleups. QualificationsStrong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to manage and grow digital presence.Excellent Communication and Writing skills for clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate messaging.Experience in Content Strategy, including planning campaigns, defining target audiences, and aligning content with organizational goals.Proficiency with major social platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram), analytics tools, and basic visual or video content tools.Relevant education in marketing, communications, media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work on-site in Gothenburg, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced event environment.Interest or experience in venture capital, startups, or innovation ecosystems is highly beneficial. What we're looking forYou have:Professional experience in social media, content marketing or digital communications, with the ability to independently build and improve content workflowsStrong editorial judgement and the ability to identify what is relevant to a senior international audienceExcellent written and spoken English, with strong copywriting and storytelling skillsExperience from events, conferences or other fast-paced environmentsA strong understanding of LinkedIn, B2B communication and audience growthHands-on experience using generative AI as a professional working tool.Experience using performance data to test, learn and continuously optimise contentThe ability to turn one story, interview or piece of event content into multiple relevant formatsBasic visual content creation skills, ideally using Canva and/or AdobeThe ability to move comfortably between strategy and hands-on executionThe ability to work independently, prioritise and deliver when things move quickly Experience from venture capital, startups, deep tech, technology, innovation or international B2B environments will be highly valued. Rather than waiting for a detailed brief, you can identify a good story, find the right angle and turn it into relevant content.You are comfortable communicating with senior international audiences – including investors, founders, CEOs and industry leaders – and understand that credibility and relevance matter more than simply generating attention.You enjoy building things. You can look at an ambition, audience and set of channels and create the structure needed to turn them into a consistent content operation.You are also curious about new tools, formats and ways of working. You see AI as a way to become better and more efficient at your craft – not as a substitute for creativity, experience and judgement. Scope & workplaceThe role is approximately 50%, with the possibility of increasing the scope during the intensive period leading up to GoWest 2027, 13–15 April. We work in a hybrid setup with Gothenburg as our base. Some on-site presence will be important, particularly around content production, team meetings and the event itself.
