Volunteer Internship Position I Remote | 20h/week in October, 10h/week November-December Our mission is not just to create documentaries, but to ensure each one sparks action. And that only happens through the right platform. In summer 2026, CRUX has been on the road across Southern and Eastern Africa, documenting young activists on the front lines of the climate crisis. More than just a film, we want to match our audiences with concrete, grassroots projects they can join, connecting young people to real climate solutions happening in their own area. Alongside our film team, we're building a global database of youth-led climate projects, and now we need a platform that brings people and projects together. As our Web Designer, you'll shape how that platform looks, feels, and works for the people using it. From first-time visitors discovering a project near them to youth-led climate initiatives showcasing their work, you'll design an experience that makes it easy, inspiring, and intuitive to go from watching a story to taking action. What you'll do:Design the visual identity and user experience for our platform connecting young people to climate projects Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for key pages and user flowsCollaborate with the development team to ensure designs translate cleanly into a working siteDesign supporting visual assets, icons, illustrations, and layouts, that reflect our brand and missionIterate on design based on user feedback as the platform grows What we're looking for:Passion for climate action and using design to drive real-world engagementStrong portfolio in UI/UX design; experience with tools like FigmaAbility to design for accessibility and ease of use across audiences and regionsGood communication skills and ability to work independentlyBonus: experience designing platforms for social impact
