About the rolePaymentIQ is looking for an Accounting Lead to own accounting and financial reporting. Since our February 2026 carve-out from Worldline we have been building the finance function from scratch, and our bond issuance has raised the bar: IFRS adoption, five legal entities to consolidate, quarterly publication, and a policy framework that meets bond and Nasdaq standards. This role owns that agenda. This is a hands-on role for someone who already knows this work well. You will report directly to the CFO and work alongside two accountants and a business controller, with real freedom to decide how the work gets done. What makes it unusual is the mandate that comes with it. We have just implemented a new ERP, our reporting is being automated as we go, and we expect whoever takes this seat to lead how data, automation and AI are used across the finance function. It is a rare chance to design a modern finance function from a clean slate rather than inherit one, and we would rather hire someone who is energised by that than someone looking for a steady seat. Key responsibilitiesLead IFRS consolidation and prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including all notesDrive automation and continuous process improvement across accounting, including AI-enabled ways of workingSupport bookkeeping, tax reporting, and transfer pricing across our Swedish, Dutch, Maltese, and North Macedonian entitiesOwn audit readiness and act as the main contact for auditorsBuild out our finance policies and procedures to the level expected under our bond terms and Nasdaq rulesSupport bond and covenant monitoring together with the CFO What we are looking forSeveral years of experience in qualified accounting or financial reporting, from audit, a group accounting function, or bothStrong practical IFRS knowledge, including hands-on experience owning a group consolidationExperience preparing external financial statements; bond or listed-company reporting is a strong advantageSolid understanding of Swedish accounting and tax rules; multi-entity, multi-currency experience is a plusExperienced in ERP and consolidation systemsGenuinely interested in what data, automation and AI can do in a finance function, and keen to keep building that skill set alongside your accounting expertiseAble to work independently and take full ownership in a small team without established routinesFluent English; Swedish is an advantage Why join us?Own the accounting and reporting agenda of a newly independent, bond-financed group, reporting directly to the CFOA genuine clean slate: new ERP, brand-new system infrastructure, and the freedom to design how the work gets doneA real mandate to put data, automation and AI to work across finance, not a side project alongside the day jobDirect exposure to the quarterly reporting cycle, our auditors and our bond investorsA role that grows as the group growsCompetitive compensation package, aligned with seniority and experienceFlexible working arrangements supporting a healthy work-life balanceA collaborative culture that values expertise, ownership and getting things done
