Back End Developer

I am looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a highly technical team working on scalable, high-load backend systems. This is a hands-on role focused on building and optimising distributed services where performance, reliability and scalability are critical. Key Requirements- Strong hands-on production experience with Apache Kafka — essential- Solid understanding of consumer groups, rebalancing, offsets and retries- Experience handling duplicate message delivery and at-least-once processing- Knowledge of idempotency, deduplication and retry-safe event processing- Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript. Candidates with strong experience in Java, Go, Python, C# or C++ may also be considered.- Experience with distributed systems and microservices- Experience with gRPC or similar RPC frameworks- Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, DynamoDB or Redis- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud environments, preferably AWS/GCP- Experience working with high-load production systems and participating in on-call/incident management What You'll Do- Design and develop scalable backend services and features- Work with distributed, event-driven systems and high-volume data flows- Improve system performance, reliability and scalability- Participate in architectural and code reviews- Troubleshoot complex production issues and contribute to continuous technical improvements- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions
