Bilingual Non-Profit Bookkeeper

Job OverviewAn established environmental non-profit dedicated to global deforestation prevention is seeking a part-time Bilingual Non-Profit Bookkeeper to manage daily financial operations across US and European legal entities. Working remotely, you will oversee accounting for a small team, process donor payments and international payroll, and assist with federal grant compliance in QuickBooks. This role offers unique exposure to multi-currency, international non-profit finance within a supportive, mission-driven environment. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM EST (20 hrs per week) ResponsibilitiesManage QuickBooks accounting system for US-based 501(c)(3) non-profitProcess and record monthly income from government, philanthropic, and corporate donorsHandle international payroll for staff across multiple countriesManage credit card reconciliations and automatic payment processingPrepare monthly financial reports for board meetingsTrack shared costs and overhead allocations per donor requirementsSupport compliance with US federal grant rules and reporting requirementsAssist with financial operations across US and Netherlands legal entitiesProvide data for AI-based financial analysis toolsGenerate financial runway and payroll analyticsMonthly reporting responsibilities on expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow Requirements3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with exposure to the non-profit sectorStrong proficiency in QuickBooks and comfort with financial management softwareUnderstanding of US non-profit accounting principles and federal grant requirementsExperience with international payments and multi-currency transactionsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong English communication abilities for effective team collaboration; Spanish language preferredAbility to work UK hours (9 AM - 1 PM UK time) consistentlySelf-motivated with ability to work independently while maintaining team coordinationWillingness to learn and adapt to new accounting frameworks, particularly European requirementsExperience with or interest in the environmental/conservation sector is a plus Independent Contractor PerksPermanent work from homeImmediate hiring NotePlease click the "Apply" button to complete your application, including the assessment questions, technical check, and voice recording.
