Business Controller

WALLENIUS SOL is looking for a Business Controller to join our Finance team in Gothenburg. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Commercial, and Operations and play an important part in supporting the business through financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and performance follow-up. You will provide valuable insights that support decision-making and contribute to the Company's continued growth and development. As a Business Controller, you will combine analytical expertise with a strong understanding of business drivers, helping management understand performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions. You will be part of the Business Controlling team.

Main Responsibilities You will primarily work with: Monthly management reporting and business performance analysisBudgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processesProfitability analysis of vessels, routes, customers, and commercial agreementsFinancial and operational KPI reporting and follow-upBusiness cases, investment analyses, and decision-support materialIdentifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities across the businessSupporting management in understanding financial and operational performanceDeveloping reporting models, dashboards, and analytical toolsImproving reporting quality, processes, and data integrityCollaborating closely with Commercial, Operations, and Finance teamsSupporting and mentoring junior colleagues within the controlling function Relevant Background You hold a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field and have several years of relevant experience within business controlling, financial analysis, or a similar finance role. You have experience working with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and business performance analysis. You are comfortable turning financial and operational data into meaningful insights and recommendations and enjoy working closely with stakeholders across the organisation. Experience from shipping, logistics, transportation, or another asset-intensive industry is considered an advantage but is not required. You are highly proficient in Excel and have experience working with BI and reporting tools such as Qlik, Power BI, or similar solutions. Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English are required. Personal Qualities We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
