Cooling Commissioning Engineer
Are you experienced in cooling, HVAC or data center cooling systems and ready to work on complex international projects?
We are looking for a Cooling Commissioning Engineer to support Schneider Electric customers across Europe. In this role, you will provide professional on-site services for cooling equipment and systems, including commissioning, technical diagnostics, troubleshooting and customer support.
You will work on complex and critical projects, mainly within data center and critical infrastructure environments, supporting equipment such as air- and water-cooled chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, fan walls and liquid cooling systems.
This position requires international travel for approximately 70% of working time.
Main responsibilities
Perform startup and commissioning across the cooling product rangeEvaluate unit installation, including pipework quality and hydraulic circuits for chillersEvaluate system installation and operational conditionsPerform onsite adjustments to bring equipment to optimal running conditionsIdentify whether failures are related to quality issues, software issues or operational conditions through root cause analysisWork with Schneider Electric service engineers and partners during site interventionsProperly document, label and return defective parts used in repairsTrain Schneider Electric customers on basic equipment operationPerform preventive and corrective maintenance for cooling systems
About You
Thorough understanding of HVAC principles, especially cooling, with basic knowledge of electricityExperience working independently with general guidance and clear objectivesStrong commitment to safety policies, practices and proceduresAbility to read, analyse and interpret technical procedures, professional documents and regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manualsStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram formAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyWillingness to travel internationally for approximately 70% of working time, and sometimes more
Education and experience
University education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar technical fieldAround 5 years’ experience with commissioning or field service repair of HVAC or cooling equipmentConfirmed experience with cooling equipment and solutions, such as air cooling, air-cooled chillers or water-cooled chillersExperience with precision cooling is a strong advantageExperience with HVAC, generators, fire detection or fire suppression systems is an advantageFluent communication skills in English, minimum B2 levelFlexible, reliable and customer-focused mindsetStrong attention to technical detailTeam player with leadership capabilityGood software tool literacy, including MS Office, Acrobat and AutoCAD
