Cyber Security Engineer / DevSecOps Consultant

Working Model: Onsite/Hybrid preferredEngagement: Consultancy We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer / DevSecOps Consultant to support a global organisation in strengthening cyber security practices across its engineering and DevOps teams. The Role You will work closely with Cyber Security and Engineering teams, helping DevOps teams progress through their cyber security journey and adopt secure engineering practices. The role requires a strong technical security background combined with excellent stakeholder management skills. You should be comfortable working directly with engineering teams, guiding security assessments and supporting the integration of security into software development and DevOps processes. Key Responsibilities Guide DevOps and Engineering teams in adopting cyber security practices.Support teams with security-related requests and requirements.Conduct or guide fundamental cyber security assessments.Apply Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) principles across engineering activities.Support DevSecOps, threat modelling and resilience planning.Help automate security-related processes where appropriate.Collaborate with Cyber Security, Engineering and other relevant stakeholders.Review technical solutions and provide practical security guidance.Support continuous improvement of cyber security maturity and risk management. Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong experience working within DevOps/DevSecOps environments.Good knowledge of SSDLC and secure software development principles.Understanding of threat modelling and security risk assessment.Knowledge of resilience and security planning.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong self-leadership.Technical background with an understanding of modern engineering environments.DesirableBasic development, scripting or code-review experience.Experience applying security automation within DevOps environments.Knowledge or practical experience of AI and AI-related security considerations.CISSP, CISM or related cyber security certifications.Key PrioritiesThe three most important areas for this assignment are:Excellent stakeholder managementStrong SSDLC knowledgeHands-on experience working with DevOps/DevSecOps teams
