Design Engineer

We are looking for a Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and 3D modelling to join an international technology company developing AI-powered security screening systems used to help protect people in high-security and high-traffic environments.

You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, software and other cross-disciplinary specialists to bring complex electro-mechanical products from technical requirements through design, prototyping and production.

Key Responsibilities

Develop product layout designs for security screening equipment based on technical requirementsDesign product enclosures and mechanical components using technologies including sheet metal processing, milling, turning, welding, 3D printing, injection moulding, thermoforming and extrusionPerform basic strength simulations of critical componentsPrepare technical documentation in accordance with relevant ISO standardsSupport production and supervise the implementation of designs at different stagesParticipate in the assembly of prototypes and pre-production samplesIdentify opportunities for design optimisation and implement design improvementsCollaborate closely with engineering and production teams throughout the product lifecycle

University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field3-6 years of professional experience in mechanical designExperience with SolidWorks CADGood knowledge of metal processing technologies, including sheet metal bending and cutting, turning and millingBasic knowledge of plastic processing technologies, including 3D printing, injection moulding, thermoforming and extrusionGood understanding of strength of materialsKnowledge of basic electrical engineering and electronicsUnderstanding of basic interchangeability principles and tolerancesAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsGood communication skillsPortfolio of relevant design work is highly appreciatedNative Russian and English at B1/B2 level
