Right Livelihood is seeking an Education Officer. About Right LivelihoodFor over 40 years, we have presented the Right Livelihood Award to four individuals or organisations annually. By recognising the actions of brave visionaries and building impactful connections around the world, the Award boosts urgent and long-term social change. 203 Laureates from 81 countries have received the distinction to date. Today, our work goes beyond only presenting the Award. We provide Laureates with long-term support. We work to raise their profile, highlight their solutions, provide protection when their lives and liberty are in danger and link them and their innovative solutions to academia. In cooperation with global university networks such as the Right Livelihood College and the Global Campus of Human Rights, we develop and disseminate knowledge about Laureates’ solutions. PurposeThis role will further develop our education work and focus on developing educational formats for activists and university students, both in-person and online, to learn from Right Livelihood Laureates about systems change. You will be an integral part of a highly motivated international team. You will work closely with other parts of our organisation, such as communications and Laureate support. You will report to the Education Manager and be in regular exchange with external partners and Laureates, including Right Livelihood College and the Global Campus of Human Rights Main responsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and evaluate learning resources (workshops, trainings, events, materials) on systems change and social transformation based on the examples of Right Livelihood Laureates.In collaboration with the programme, advocacy and communications teams, establish a learning journey for activists, students and Laureates by contributing educational aspects to new and pre-planned activities, Assist the Education Manager to coordinate our work with the Right Livelihood College and the Global Campus of Human Rights.Plan and execute events necessary to achieve the above tasks.Support Right Livelihood's learning culture by contributing to its institutional learning.Assist in identifying and maintaining partnerships that could strengthen and amplify the work of Laureates and the Foundation.Collaborate with our communications colleagues to increase the visibility of the education work (networking, website, social media). Required experience and qualificationsMinimum two years' experience developing and implementing educational formats such as trainings in social movements and/or teaching, workshops or MOOCs in academia.Ability to demonstrate initiative with multiple stakeholdersAbility to condense complex information into concise formatsExcellent skills in organising meetings and events in a diverse, international and intersectional context.Full professional proficiency in English. Desired experience and qualificationsExperience in the field of Child Rights and with child participation modelsExperience within academia and a good understanding of university administration.Experience within social movements, their decision-making and training formats.Deep commitment to the field of justice, peace or sustainability and understanding of the work of Right Livelihood Laureates. This is a full-time, permanent position, with an immediate start date. This position is based at the head office in Gamla Enskede, Stockholm, with occasional travel to our office in Geneva, Switzerland. We have a flexible working style where those who can have the opportunity to work from home two days a week, to facilitate the balance between work and private life. Right Livelihood is part of a collective bargaining agreement in Sweden (Tjänstemän Fremia med Unionen och Akademikerförbunden) that includes, among other things, an occupational pension. You will be eligible to receive up to 4 000 SEK health benefit per year. The salary band for this position is 34 000 - 43 000 SEK per month and we apply individual salary settings in accordance with our collective bargaining agreement.
