Freelance Video Editor – Nonprofit Event Footage

Join a project supporting an inclusive nonprofit event by organizing and preparing footage from a recent drag show fundraiser in New York City. This role focuses on reviewing and categorizing raw video content to enable the media team to create compelling promotional materials. The assignment is remote and requires attention to detail, a strong sense of narrative, and proficiency with DaVinci Resolve. You will not be responsible for creating finished edits, but your work will be essential in streamlining the post-production process for a high-impact community event.

Deliverables

Review and organize all provided event footage, including drag performances, crowd reactions, host segments, backstage moments, and B-roll. Create clearly labeled selects and stringout timelines in DaVinci Resolve, grouped by relevant categories. Add markers or brief notes to highlight standout moments and ensure source media remains intact. Deliver an organized project file ready for the media team to use in future edits. Complete the assignment within a two-week timeframe.

Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve for video organization and timeline management. Experience with event or documentary footage, especially in fast-paced or live environments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify engaging moments and categorize footage effectively. Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely. Availability to deliver within two weeks of assignment start. Familiarity with LGBTQ+ community events or nonprofit projects is a plus.
