German Community – Translation Support

We're Looking For: A German speaker who loves gaming and has a sharp eye for language, this is your chance to work with the Germany Community Team behind the scenes on one of the industry's biggest names. The publisher is seeking a German Community – Translation Support (Contractor) to support the German Community Team for a minimum duration of six months with the potential of extension, with accurate English to German translation, linguistic QA, and day to day communication. It is an ongoing, part-time role, Monday – Friday from 11.00-16.00 UK Time (weekends off), with peak scaling needs. This role sits alongside the Community Team, making sure everything they publish is accurate, clear, and on brand. About You: You are located in: Germany, Greece, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo or Serbia FINAL FANTASY XIV player with strong knowledge of the game. You have experience with MMORPGs / live service content (essential). You are a German linguist. C1 or higher in English, written and spoken. German localisation skills and strong English to German translation ability. Ability to handle a mix of marketing and technical content. Comfortable with linguistic QA and content checks across different formats. Able to support accessibility work, including ALT text translation. Able to manage fast turnarounds and busy periods without compromising quality. Comfortable working within a structured review process. Available Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 16:00 UK time. Able to start at the end of August or in early September. Happy to complete test assessments plus interviews as part of the recruitment process. Technical Requirements: A minimum internet speed of 15 Mb/s download and 15 Mb/s upload with Latency A minimum of 8 GB RAM. Windows 11 (All editions except Windows S Mode), or macOS 13.0 or newer. An Intel Core i5-8300H or better. An Integrated Graphics card. A smartphone usable for two-factor authentication that runs at least: Android 10.0 or newer. Apple iOS 16.0 or newer.
