Hardware Engineer - electronic components

Role: Hardware EngineerRate: 700 - 800SEK per hour, depending on experienceDuration: 12 months We are currently looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer with a strong knowledge of electronics and electronic components to support a manufacturing and production build project.The role will focus primarily on 2nd-source component investigation and verification, helping to improve component availability and supply-chain resilience across existing electronic designs. The RoleA number of components within the current electronic designs are currently single-source. You will be responsible for investigating and validating suitable alternative components that can be introduced as approved 2nd-source alternatives, ensuring they meet the required technical and design requirements.Depending on the component and application, verification activities may range from a straightforward datasheet and specification comparison through to more comprehensive technical verification. Responsibilities include:Investigating alternative and 2nd-source electronic components.Reviewing and comparing component datasheets, specifications and technical characteristics.Assessing component compatibility against existing electronic designs.Identifying differences in electrical, mechanical and functional characteristics.Carrying out detailed component verification where required.Assessing alternative components across different products and design features.Working with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve component-related issues.Following a defined component verification and approval process.Formally documenting all investigations, test results and verification activities.Supporting the introduction and approval of alternative components into production. About YouWe are looking for a Hardware Engineer with good practical knowledge of electronics and electronic components. You should be comfortable interpreting datasheets, understanding component specifications and assessing whether alternative components are technically suitable for use within an existing design.You will ideally have experience in:Hardware/electronics engineering.Electronic component selection or qualification.Component obsolescence, alternative sourcing or 2nd-source investigations.Datasheet and technical specification analysis.Verification and validation activities.Working within structured engineering processes.Producing clear and accurate technical documentation.Supporting products through manufacturing or production.
