The Stockholm School of Economics is launching an MSc program in Public Policy (MPP), with the first cohort to start in autumn 2028. The program will be hosted by the House of Governance and Public Policy. The Head of Ecosystem is a new role bringing you to the team at an early stage, when you can be instrumental in shaping the program’s external relationships, partnerships, network, and visibility from the outset. As the program launches to operation, your focus will be on engaging with diverse external stakeholders. You will enjoy significant scope for initiative, responsibility, and professional growth, and you will help steer the evolution of your role as the MPP program develops.
The role
The Head of Ecosystem for the MSc in Public Policy (MPP) program will drive and develop the involvement of external stakeholders in the program. You will report to the Director of the House of Governance and Public Policy (GaPP) which hosts the program. You will work closely with the MPP Program Director and Program Manager and with SSE External Relations units such as the Career Management & Alumni Relations and Corporate Relations & Development teams.
Your primary focus will be on fostering relationships with external partners such as government agencies, NGOs, companies, fellows, and alumni to secure their engagement and support in both curricular and extra-curricular program activities. You will set goals, manage your own processes, and contribute directly to the positive development and global impact of the program.
Your tasks include, but are not limited to: Supporting the coordination of the launch and the ongoing development of the MPP program in close collaboration with the Program Manager and Program Director, contributing ideas and initiatives that strengthen student and stakeholder experiences. Strategic relationship management for the benefit of the MPP program: Identifying and engaging new external partners in close collaboration with External Relations unit.Driving and securing the involvement of external partners and alumni in the program (e.g. for guest lectures, teaching support, internships, student project work and assessors for the admissions process).Structuring and maintaining external partner and alumni contacts in the CRM system to ensure transparency and follow-up.Curating and participating in events with external partners.Supporting MPP placement activities and working cross-functionally with the Career Management & Alumni Relations team, as well as Corporate Relations & Development, to identify student needs and align external engagement accordingly.Developing and executing plans for MPP alumni engagement related to placements and career opportunities.Demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on a broad range of tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the team and the program’s overall objectives. This is a managerial role in which you will be responsible for initiating and driving multiple projects and processes. You will bring a collaborative, learning mindset and value cross-functional teamwork in delivering an integrated student experience, recognizing that student success is a shared effort.
It is also important that you are service-minded, as the position involves substantial interaction with organizations, companies, faculty, students, and partner schools around the world. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are confident in engaging with senior staff members, corporate partners, and other stakeholders, as well as in handling and resolving challenging situations.
International experience is considered an asset, as a large part of both the student body and faculty come from outside Sweden.
Qualifications A longstanding professional background in managing and developing complex organizations, programs, and strategic initiatives. Experience with executive-level governance and decision-making processes and standards, both within and outside Sweden. Proven ability to independently lead and manage projects, delivering high-quality results within set timelines, and developing associated messaging and communications. English, spoken and written. An interest in generative AI and its evolution. An academic degree Meritorious: A professional background in management and development of academic institutions and Master’s level degree programs. Demonstrated track record in stakeholder relations involving academic, policy, and business organizations. Demonstrated achievements in creating excellent student experiences in the classroom and/or in extracurricular initiatives. Professional international experience, preferably in academic environments; for example, in international scholastic networks such as CEMS or GNAM. Professional experience in the design and delivery of academic-based corporate and executive education (non-degree) programs. Experience in establishing and maintaining networks with EU and other policy institutions and related organizations. Experience with CRM systems, including maintaining stakeholder relationships and data, and/or participating in CRM implementation projects. Swedish. About the House of Governance and Public Policy
The House of Governance and Public Policy (GaPP) is an interdisciplinary platform at the Stockholm School of Economics dedicated to research, education, and dialogue on governance and public policy. We were established in response to a growing societal need: today’s most pressing challenges, from security and resilience to health, migration, education, and economic development, rarely fit within traditional sectoral or disciplinary boundaries.
As a coordinated framework for interdisciplinary research and cross-sector engagement, GaPP serves as a bridge between academia and practice. Building on the Stockholm School of Economics’ longstanding mission to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness through research and education, we extend this mission into the domains of governance, public policy, and societal resilience.

This is a full-time, permanent position with an initial six-month probationary period. This role may occasionally require work outside regular office hours, as well as domestic and international travel.
