HIL Engineer - Automotive

Nexer Engineering is looking for experienced HIL Test Engineers for assignments with clients in the automotive industry in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The need for structured testing of embedded control systems is growing, and this role focuses on validating functionality, system behavior, and performance in modern automotive platforms through HIL environments and test benches.

Your role

You will work close to software and system development with a clear focus on HIL testing within automotive environments. This is a full-time, on-site assignment at the client's workplace in Gothenburg.

Executing complex test campaigns with multiple interfaces, both in vehicles and on test benchesMonitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to embedded control systemsAnalyzing test data, summarizing, and communicating test results to relevant stakeholdersCollaborating closely with simulation, control, and systems engineers to analyze cause-effect relationships between design and performanceSpecifying, balancing, and verifying system requirementsDeveloping innovative testing methods to improve campaign efficiency and result accuracy

B.Sc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical and Electronics EngineeringAt least three years of experience in the automotive industryHands-on experience with HIL testing and test benchesKnowledge of embedded software and hardware engineeringFluent in English, spoken and writtenValid working permit in Sweden and current residence in SwedenPrior professional work experience in Sweden

Meritorious Experience

Hands-on experience building HIL environments from scratch – a competence that is specifically sought after by our clientsExperience with verification and validation of embedded systemsUnderstanding of in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay)Experience with CI environments or test automation frameworksPrevious experience within the Swedish automotive industryFluent in Swedish, spoken and written
