HSE Manager

Enersense Engineering is currently looking for a HSE Manager to join our client's data centre project in Helsinki, Finland. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring a safe, compliant and high-performing construction environment, working closely with project management, site teams, contractors and other stakeholders. The work will start as soon as possible. Main tasks and responsibilities: Ensure that project activities are carried out in accordance with the established HSE management system and project-specific requirementsDevelop, implement and maintain Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans throughout the project lifecycleProvide regular updates to senior management on HSE performance, key initiatives, risks and areas for improvementEnsure full compliance with applicable Health & Safety and environmental legislation, regulations and statutory requirementsImplement and maintain project-specific Environmental, Health & Safety plans and proceduresReview and support the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA) and permit-to-work documentationMonitor implementation of the Project Execution Plan and ensure that relevant HSE requirements are followedPromote a strong and proactive safety culture across the project, site teams and subcontractor organisationsCoordinate hazardous substance assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are identified and implementedMonitor safety observations, interventions and corrective actions, ensuring they are properly documented and closed outCarry out regular HSE inspections and audits, record findings and follow up on required actionsIdentify potential HSE risks at an early stage and support the implementation of effective preventive and corrective measuresMonitor subcontractor compliance with project HSE requirements and ensure that relevant policies and procedures are followedCoordinate site HSE inductions, training and awareness activities for employees and subcontractorsLead and support accident and incident investigations Requirements: Degree or relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related fieldStrong understanding of applicable Health & Safety and environmental legislation and regulatory requirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in an similar role, preferably on large-scale construction projectsPrevious experience within data centre construction is highly advantageousDemonstrated ability to manage HSE activities within a complex construction site environmentStrong leadership, communication and organisational skillsAbility to work independently, take initiative and collaborate effectively with project teams, contractors and subcontractorsFlexible and adaptable approach to changing project requirements and prioritiesStrong commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performanceEnglish language skills We follow pay transparency principles and the salary level and the criteria used to determine it will be communicated to candidates before the interview.
