IMS DB Administrator

We are seeking an experienced IMS DB Administrator / Operations Specialist to support the operation and administration of IMS hierarchical databases as part of a planned database modernization and replacement initiative. In this role, you will help ensure the reliable operation of the existing IMS DB environment while supporting the replacement of current database structures. A key aspect of the assignment will be knowledge transfer, helping ensure that critical IMS expertise is effectively shared throughout the transition. Key Responsibilities:Operate and administer IMS DB (hierarchical databases) within a mainframe environment.Create, manage, and maintain database partitions.Support the replacement and migration of existing IMS database structures.Perform day-to-day operational activities within the mainframe/IMS environment.Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to IMS DB.Contribute to documentation and knowledge transfer activities throughout the database replacement project.Work independently while coordinating effectively with relevant technical teams. Requirements:Several years of professional experience in IMS DB administration and operations.Strong practical knowledge of IMS and hierarchical database structures.Hands-on experience creating, managing, and maintaining database partitions.Experience working in a mainframe environment.
