Junior Test Engineer

Title: Junior Test Automation Engineer – Payments & Financial Systems (Try & Hire)Location: Helsinki, Finland (Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site, 50% remote)Contract Period: November 2, 2026 – February 28, 2027 (Try & Hire with view to permanent hire)Workload: 100% Full-Time (40 hours/week)Languages: English (Mandatory) Recann is the employment business for this specific role. Role Overview: We are seeking a Junior Test Automation Engineer for a Try & Hire assignment with a major financial organization in Helsinki. This role offers an immediate contract starting in November with a direct pathway to permanent employment following the initial assignment period.You will join an engineering team focused on payments infrastructure, designing, building, and executing automated test frameworks while performing root-cause analysis (RCA) across business-critical financial services. Key Responsibilities: Test Design & Execution: Analyze functional requirements, design test cases, and execute automated test suites.Framework Development: Build, maintain, and expand automated test frameworks using Python and Robot Framework.CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins continuous delivery pipelines.Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate test failures, diagnose system anomalies, and document bug reports.Quality Standards: Maintain testing documentation aligned with ISTQB standards and incorporate AI-driven testing tools where applicable. Qualifications & Requirements: Domain Knowledge: Functional understanding or experience within Payments or Financial Services.Technical Stack: Hands-on experience with Python, Robot Framework, and Jenkins.Methodology: Solid grasp of software testing concepts (ISTQB Foundation level equivalent).AI & Tools: Familiarity with modern AI-assisted testing practices and test management software.Location & Setup: Ability to work on-site in Helsinki 3 days/week.
