Lead AI & Automation Engineer

We are looking for a Senior AI & Automation Engineer for an exciting assignment within a large international organization. This is a senior and hands-on role combining AI, Automation, End User Services and modern workplace technologies, with a strong focus on creating smarter and more proactive IT services.

The assignment is part of a broader journey towards an AI-enabled and zero-touch workplace, where automation and intelligent self-service increasingly replace repetitive Service Desk activities. You will help build solutions that improve the employee experience while reducing manual work and enabling IT support to operate more efficiently at scale.

In this assignment, you will design and develop AI-driven automation across workplace services, endpoint management and Service Desk operations. You will work with areas such as device provisioning, application delivery, access management, troubleshooting and proactive remediation.

An important part of the role is developing AI assistants and agent-based solutions that can understand user needs, retrieve relevant information and securely perform approved actions across enterprise systems.

You will work with modern concepts such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, Copilot Studio and MCP, while ensuring that solutions are secure, reliable and suitable for a large enterprise environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Building AI-powered self-service and automation for workplace and Service Desk processesDeveloping Copilot and agent-based solutions for employee supportAutomating endpoint provisioning, configuration, application delivery and remediationCreating proactive and zero-touch workflows that identify and resolve issues before they become support ticketsIntegrating workplace platforms and enterprise systems through APIs and orchestrationTaking AI and automation solutions from POC through testing and into production

Technical Environment

The assignment is primarily based around the Microsoft workplace and Azure ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows Autopilot, Entra ID and Defender for Endpoint. You will also work with technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI and Power Platform.

Automation and integrations may involve ServiceNow, Citrix and Ansible, together with PowerShell, Python, APIs and event-driven workflows.

You will also work with modern approaches within Digital Employee Experience (DEX) and AIOps, using endpoint and service telemetry to identify issues, automate remediation and continuously improve the employee experience.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced engineer who combines a strong workplace or End User Services background with hands-on automation and modern AI experience.

You Should Have

Around 10+ years of experience within End User Services, EUC, Workplace, Service Desk, endpoint or platform engineeringStrong hands-on experience automating workplace operations in large-scale environmentsExperience with Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra IDStrong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or PythonExperience integrating platforms through REST APIs, workflows and orchestrationExperience with ServiceNow and modern ITSM processesPractical experience with AI, Generative AI, Copilot or agent-based solutionsExperience taking automation or AI solutions from concept or POC into stable production environmentsExperience with Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Citrix, Ansible, Terraform, Power Platform, DEX platforms or AIOps is considered highly valuable.

You are a senior technical professional who enjoys improving how technology works for its users. You are comfortable combining hands-on engineering with architecture and can take ownership of solutions throughout their lifecycle, from initial idea and development to integration and production.

You are interested in how AI can transform workplace services beyond traditional ticket-based support and enjoy finding opportunities where intelligent automation can remove unnecessary manual work.

At the same time, you understand the importance of security, governance and controlled automation in a large enterprise environment. You enjoy collaborating across teams and can communicate technical solutions clearly to both specialists and other stakeholders.
