Game Path is working with a creative and ambitious mobile game studio crafting visually striking RPG experiences for players around the world. We’re looking for a Lead Data Architect to build the data foundations behind a live, player-focused game experience. This is a permanent, fully remote role (ideally matching a European time zone). The Role As Lead Data Architect, you will define and evolve the studio’s data architecture across game telemetry, analytics, player data, live operations, and business intelligence. You will work closely with engineering, product, analytics, and publishing teams to ensure reliable, actionable data informs game development and business decisions. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end data architecture, from game telemetry and ingestion through storage, transformation, modelling, and reporting.Define scalable data standards for player behaviour, progression, retention, monetisation, game economy, and live operations.Design and maintain reliable pipelines connecting game, backend, CRM, marketing, and third-party platform data.Establish effective practices for data quality, governance, security, privacy, documentation, observability, and cost optimisation.Partner with cross-functional teams, mentor data colleagues, and enable trusted self-service datasets, dashboards, and reporting. Requirements 6+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related discipline.Strong experience designing and operating scalable cloud data platforms, with excellent SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT, and warehousing expertise.Hands-on knowledge of a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, alongside modern tooling such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, or equivalent.Experience designing event-based telemetry and collaborating with product, engineering, and analytics stakeholders in a fast-moving digital product or live-service environment.A practical understanding of data governance, GDPR, access controls, and communicating technical decisions clearly across technical and non-technical teams. Nice-to-Haves Experience in mobile games, free-to-play games, live-service products, or high-volume consumer applications.Understanding of game KPIs such as retention, engagement, conversion, lifetime value, churn, acquisition performance, and economy health.Experience supporting experimentation, A/B testing, player segmentation, predictive analytics, or personalisation.Familiarity with Unity telemetry, game backend services, mobile attribution, CRM, or marketing-data integrations.Python, Scala, Java, or similar programming experience, as well as experience building or leading a data function in a scale-up environment.
