Please Note: This is a multi-site, European wide role (remote at times but heavy travel across Nordics, Central and Eastern Europe)Lead Electrical Engineer - AI Data Centre InfrastructurePermanent We are working with a fast-scaling AI infrastructure company that is building high-density data centres across Europe and beyond. They are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to take ownership of power design across mission-critical, GPU-heavy environments. This is not a static office-based design role. The person joining will be close to live projects, travelling regularly across European sites, spending extended periods on-site where needed, and helping shape electrical standards as new capacity is built. The roleLooking for someone who can own electrical engineering across data centre projects from concept through delivery, validation and operational readiness.You will work across utility connections, MV/LV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, PDUs, protection, redundancy, grounding and safety studies. Working closely with internal data centre, hardware, design, construction and operations teams, as well as external utilities, consultants, contractors and vendors.Travel will be a major part of the role. Projects may require long periods on-site, particularly during design validation, buildout, commissioning, issue resolution and handover. What they are looking for (Essential)Strong electrical engineering background within data centres, mission-critical infrastructure or similarly complex industrial environmentsExperience designing and reviewing large-scale power distribution systemsExposure to Nordic, German and/or UK standards and utility processesGood understanding of MV/LV infrastructure, switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators and PDUsExperience with redundancy strategies such as N+1, 2N or equivalent resilient architecturesAbility to own grounding, bonding, load studies, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination and arc-flash considerationsFull EU right to work - given the international nature of the role, VISA support cannot be provided Useful experienceHyperscale, colocation or high-density data centre projectsGPU, HPC, AI infrastructure or high-power compute environmentsAbility to create standards, templates and repeatable design approaches for fast site rollout This would suit someone who wants more than a narrow design seat - someone who enjoys being close to the build, solving real site constraints, and taking ownership of the electrical backbone behind next-generation AI infrastructure.
