To support this next phase of growth, the business is strengthening its senior leadership team with a Commercial Director who will bring rigour, insight and strategic direction to a growing regional portfolio. WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTSYou will lead commercial performance across a portfolio of large-scale, fast-track M&E programmes, typically involving substantial mechanical, electrical and process-critical installations delivered to demanding programmes and exacting specifications. The scale and complexity of these projects make commercial leadership a true driver of business performance. Reporting at senior level, you will oversee a team of commercial managers and quantity surveyors across multiple live projects, working alongside operations, engineering and pre-construction leadership. The culture is collaborative, accountable and commercially astute, with open lines of communication from site teams through to the executive board. The role combines a Dublin base with regular travel to project locations across Europe, giving you direct visibility of live delivery, face-to-face engagement with clients and supply chain partners, and a genuinely international leadership remit. Your influence will extend from tender strategy and contract negotiation through to final account, giving you ownership of commercial outcomes across the full project lifecycle. RESPONSIBILITIESProvide strategic commercial leadership across a multi-project European M&E portfolio, driving margin, cash flow and overall financial performanceLead, develop and mentor a regional team of commercial managers and quantity surveyors, setting standards and building capabilityOversee tender reviews, pricing strategy and bid approvals in partnership with pre-construction and estimating leadershipLead the negotiation and management of main contracts and subcontracts, including bespoke and amended NEC, FIDIC and JCT-based formsDirect commercial risk and opportunity management, ensuring robust change control and early identification of entitlementOversee cost value reconciliations, forecasting and monthly reporting to the executive leadership teamTake senior ownership of final account negotiations and the resolution of complex commercial disputesBuild strong, trusted relationships with clients, main contractors and key supply chain partners at senior levelContribute to wider business strategy, commercial governance and the continuous improvement of commercial processes WHAT YOU NEEDSignificant commercial management experience within an M&E contractor or specialist building services environment, currently operating at Commercial Director or senior Head of Commercial levelA proven track record of leading commercial performance across multiple large-scale, technically complex projects simultaneouslyExperience within data centre, life sciences, pharmaceutical or advanced manufacturing sectors is highly beneficial but not essentialStrong working knowledge of international forms of contract, with demonstrable success in negotiation and dispute resolutionA degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline; MRICS or MSCSI chartership desirableProven ability to lead, develop and retain high-performing commercial teams across multiple locationsWillingness to travel regularly across European project locations from a Dublin base WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURNThis role offers a base salary of €170,000 alongside an executive-level package, typically including performance-related bonus, car or car allowance, pension and private healthcare.
