Machine Learning Engineer

BAPON Technologies is looking for a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer for an assignment in an international technology environment in Malmö. You will help improve the quality of large-scale geospatial datasets by developing machine learning, NLP and data-analysis solutions.This is not a research-only role. You will take ownership across the full lifecycle, from exploration and modelling to integration, productionisation and deployment. The AssignmentYou will design and build machine learning systems that extract structured information, identify anomalies and measure data quality across large and complex datasets. Working closely with software engineers, data specialists and international stakeholders, you will ensure that models create measurable value in production.You are expected to understand the wider technical landscape, challenge existing approaches and continuously look for ways to improve solutions. Your ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, evaluate and deploy machine learning models.Apply classical machine learning, NLP and statistical methods to improve data quality.Develop solutions for classification, clustering, feature engineering and anomaly detection.Work with LLMs, prompting techniques and agent-based workflows.Build scalable data pipelines and robust software components.Integrate models into existing production systems.Analyse large datasets to identify patterns, quality issues and improvement opportunities.Own features and improvements from initial idea through production deployment.Measure results and continuously improve model performance, reliability and efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional and internationally distributed teams. We Believe You HaveExtensive professional experience developing software in Python.Proven experience in machine learning and data science.Strong knowledge of classical ML algorithms such as SVM, Random Forest, Naive Bayes and k-NN.Practical experience with classification, clustering, anomaly detection, neural networks and feature engineering.Hands-on experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering and agent-based workflows.Experience with relevant frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, NumPy and Pandas.Experience taking ML solutions from experimentation into scalable production environments.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and spoken English. Extra MeritsProfessional experience with Scala or Java.Experience within NLP, information retrieval or data mining.Experience with statistical modelling and predictive models.Experience working with large-scale or geospatial datasets.
