About KPITExperts in software for the automotive industryThe only embedded software company with comprehensive expertise across all CASE domainsStrategic partner to more than 25 global leaders in the mobility sectorHome to more than 13,000 engineers with a passion for mobilityGlobal presence in Asia, Europe, and North and South America ResponsibilitiesDevelop mechanical concepts, prototypes, and test equipment to support engineering, design, manufacturing, and pilot plant validation activities.Work across early and late concept development phases, transforming requirements into functional prototype solutions.Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and engineering designs using CATIA V5.Design and develop prototype tools, fixtures, and components for concept and prototype production.Collaborate with project teams to define construction methods, materials, and technical solutions for prototype builds.Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering activities, deliverables, and schedules in alignment with project objectives.Ensure engineering documentation, CAD data, and technical deliverables are correctly managed and traceable within Teamcenter Engineering (TcE).Act as technical support and representative during prototype manufacturing and assembly activities.Coordinate with workshops and prototype production environments, including milling, sheet metal fabrication, composite manufacturing, additive manufacturing, vacuum casting, injection molding, paint, and upholstery processes.Drive technology development, innovation, and continuous improvement of design methods, materials, and prototype solutions.Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, software, electrical systems, manufacturing, procurement, quality, finance, and design teams to ensure successful project delivery. Skills & Requirements Required SkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Minimum 5 years of experience in prototype development, concept engineering, or mechanical design.Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and product design.Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering methodologies, and prototype development processes.Experience designing and developing prototype tools, fixtures, and test objects.Good understanding of prototype and concept materials, manufacturing methods, and validation activities.Experience with Teamcenter Engineering (TcE) or similar PLM systems.Knowledge of automotive product development processesStrong project coordination and planning capabilities. Preferred SkillsExperience working within prototype workshops, concept centers, or research and development environments.Knowledge of additive manufacturing, composite materials, injection molding, vacuum casting, and other prototype production technologies.Experience supporting concept validation, testing, and product development programs within the automotive industry.Familiarity with technology development and innovation projects.
