The OpportunityWe're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance & Inventory Specialist to join our team, supporting a major mining operation in Europe.This is a hands-on consulting role focused on warehouse spares management, inventory control and maintenance materials, supporting multiple yards and working closely with the maintenance team to ensure critical mechanical spares are available, properly managed and aligned with maintenance requirements.This is a 12 months, FIFO role within Europe, and candidates must be EU citizens with unrestricted rights to work in the European Union. What You'll Be DoingManaging and coordinating warehouse spares Providing day-to-day oversight and direction to the warehouse/spares teamManaging mechanical spare parts, maintenance materials and critical inventoryMaintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintainedConducting regular inventory checks, stocktakes and reconciliation activitiesIdentifying obsolete, excess and critical spares and making recommendations for improved inventory managementSupporting maintenance planning through effective availability and management of spare parts and materialsEstablishing and maintaining appropriate systems, processes and controls for warehouse and inventory managementImproving warehouse organisation, storage, identification, tracking and issuing of mechanical sparesCoordinating the movement of spares and materials between multiple yards and work areasWorking with procurement and maintenance teams to support purchasing and replenishment requirementsReviewing existing inventory and warehouse processes and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiencyEnsuring appropriate controls are in place for high-value and critical mechanical componentsSupporting the maintenance team with technical identification and specification of mechanical spares where requiredProviding practical advice on spare parts requirements based on equipment, maintenance strategies and historical usageProducing inventory, warehouse and maintenance materials reports for client management What We're Looking ForProven experience in mechanical maintenance, spare parts, inventory or warehouse management, preferably within mining.Strong mechanical background with a good understanding of mining or industrial equipment and associated spare partsExperience coordinating or managing warehouse operations across multiple locations, yards or storesExperience supervising, coordinating or leading warehouse/inventory personnelPractical experience with stock control, inventory accuracy, stocktakes, replenishment and materials managementAbility to identify critical, obsolete and excess inventory and develop practical recommendationsComfortable working directly with maintenance and operational teams in a site environmentAble to work independently, take initiative and implement practical improvementsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience with ERP, CMMS or inventory management systems is desirableMechanical trade qualification, engineering qualification or equivalent practical mechanical experience is desirableMust be an EU citizen with unrestricted rights to work in the European UnionMust be able and willing to FIFO from a European home base to the client's operation Why Join Us?Be part of a global consulting business supporting major industrial and mining operationsWork in a hands-on role where you can directly improve maintenance, inventory and warehouse performanceGain exposure to a large-scale operation and multiple areas of the businessEnjoy a FIFO arrangement from within Europe
