Observability Engineer - AgentCore Telemetry

The platform hosts more than 700 applications and provides engineering teams with reusable services, technologies, and best practices to accelerate software development and delivery.As part of the Core Architecture Team, you will contribute to the architecture and implementation of the Digital Engineering Enterprise Platform, ensuring scalability, compliance, and engineering excellence. Skills:• AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry (ADOT)• OpenTelemetry SDK (Python)• AWS AgentCore Observability• AWS CloudWatch (Metrics, Logs, Structured Logs)• AWS X-Ray (distributed tracing)• LangChain instrumentation• W3C Trace Context and Baggage propagationExperience:• 4+ years of observability engineering• OpenTelemetry instrumentation of Python services• AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray integrationNice to have:• LangGraph or Strands agent framework• OpenTelemetry GenAI SIG semantic conventions• ADOT collector configuration and export pipeline setupResponsibilities:Design and implement observability solutions for AI platforms, agent-based systems, and distributed cloud-native applications.Instrument Python and LangChain-based services using OpenTelemetry, ADOT, AWS X-Ray, and CloudWatch. Build tracing, logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting pipelines across AWS environments.Establish monitoring standards for AI agents, tool executions, workflows, and service communication, including proper trace context propagation.Collaborate with AI and platform teams to identify performance and reliability issues, improve troubleshooting, and define observability best practices.
