Never be chased.Senior-Level | Remote | DTC Ecommerce | Operations Job SnapshotWe’re hiring a Senior Operations Manager to take full ownership of the back-end operations of a fast-growing DTC joint health supplement brand.You’ll manage supply chain, Shopify and subscription systems, financial reporting, contractors, and operational performance with minimal founder involvement.Location: RemoteSchedule: 9 AM–5 PM AESTTarget Start: October 12, 2026Compensation: $3,000–$5,000/month + performance-based bonusesManagement Contact: Approximately 20 minutes per dayThe founder has limited time for daily operations. You must be able to run the function independently, identify problems early, and follow through without constant reminders.About the CompanyWe’re an established, growing DTC supplement brand serving customers aged 40+ who experience joint pain or want to stay active.The customer-facing business is operating, but the back-end needs a single accountable owner. The founder is currently involved in contractor follow-ups, inventory issues, systems monitoring, and 3PL problems.This role exists to reduce operational risk, prevent revenue disruption, and give the founder more time to focus on growth.The RoleYou’ll own the day-to-day operations across:Supply chain, stock forecasting, and procurementShopify and subscription systemsFinancial reporting and supplier paymentsContractor and agency management3PL operationsRevenue-critical back-end systemsThis is not a coordination role. You’re expected to make and defend operational decisions, resolve issues independently, and keep every critical area running smoothly.You are the operations department.Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain: Own inventory forecasting, purchase orders, and international procurement to keep supply ahead of demand and prevent stockouts.Contractor & Agency Management: Coordinate technical contractors and external agencies, ensuring they have the information, tools, and decisions needed to deliver.Financial Reporting: Produce daily P&L reporting and maintain an accurate, up-to-date monthly balance sheet.Payments: Process weekly contractor payroll and settle supplier invoices on time.Systems Management: Monitor Shopify, subscriptions, advertising infrastructure, checkout, and other revenue-critical workflows.3PL Operations: Manage fulfillment performance, resolve logistics issues, and maintain reliable supply and delivery processes.Operational Systems: Build processes and reporting that surface risks early, improve efficiency, and prevent recurring problems.You’re accountable for the outcome, not just the completion of tasks.What Success Looks LikeZero stockouts across the product range.Daily P&L reporting delivered consistently without reminders.Monthly balance sheet maintained and current.Contractor payroll and supplier invoices paid on schedule.Founder involvement limited to approximately 20 minutes per day.No outstanding operational items requiring repeated follow-up.Checkout, subscription, and 3PL issues detected and resolved before they affect customers or revenue.Agreed growth and operational efficiency KPIs achieved.The goal is a reliable, scalable back-end operation with fewer surprises and less founder involvement.Required ExperienceSeniority Level: SeniorYou should have:Experience owning operations for a 7- or 8-figure ecommerce business, ideally at Operations Manager level or above.Hands-on experience with inventory forecasting, purchase orders, supply chain, and international procurement.Strong proficiency with Shopify and its app ecosystem.Practical experience with Loop Subscriptions and Checkout Champ.Proven experience managing remote teams, contractors, and external agencies.Strong financial literacy, including P&L reporting and balance sheet maintenance.Working knowledge of Meta, Google, and Klaviyo back-end systems.Experience selecting and managing 3PL providers.Experience resolving payment processor holds, merchant account verification, and other operational risks.The ability to make independent decisions around procurement, cash timing, and vendor performance.We’re looking for someone who has already managed the complexity of ecommerce operations at scale.Tools & EnvironmentYou’ll work across:ShopifyLoop SubscriptionsCheckout ChampMeta and GoogleKlaviyo3PL and supply chain platformsFinancial reporting tools and spreadsheetsContractor and agency workflowsYou should understand how these systems connect, where revenue can leak, and which issues require immediate attention.Compensation & BenefitsBase Compensation: $3,000–$5,000/monthPerformance Bonus: Tied to agreed growth milestones and operational efficiency KPIsWork Style: Remote, high autonomy, and direct operational ownershipSchedule: 9 AM–5 PM AESTSpecific bonus targets will be confirmed upon joining.Hiring ProcessApplication ReviewInitial Interview with TaloClient InterviewTrial Task, depending on role requirements and interview outcomeOfferBe prepared to discuss the scale of businesses you’ve operated, inventory and procurement decisions, financial reporting, contractor management, 3PL operations, and complex issues you’ve personally resolved.Who Thrives HereYou’ll thrive if you:Take initiative and never need to be chased.Think ahead about inventory, cash flow, and operational risks.Identify and resolve problems before they escalate.Make decisions confidently and explain your reasoning.Can move between financial reports, supplier issues, Shopify systems, and contractor bottlenecks while maintaining the bigger picture.Follow through until problems are fully resolved.Build systems that prevent recurring issues.Value accountability and autonomy over constant direction.Who Will StruggleThis role may not be a fit if you:Need the founder to prioritize your work every day.Wait for problems to be reported before acting.Have primarily worked as a project coordinator rather than an operations owner.Lack direct experience with inventory forecasting or procurement.Are uncomfortable managing financial reports.Require frequent approval for routine commercial decisions.Consider assigning tasks equivalent to ensuring delivery.Struggle to maintain visibility across multiple operational functions.Autonomy comes with accountability.
