Project Director - Data Centre Construction

Project Director – Data Centre, Sweden We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of a new build data centre campus in Sweden. The Project Director will provide strategic oversight of project operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will take full ownership of project delivery, from pre-construction through commissioning and handover, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment of project goals and expectations. Why Apply?Highly competitive salary and bonus structure.Long term project pipeline with a leading GCComprehensive benefits including pension, healthcare, and performance-related incentives.Market leading package on offer Key ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and strategic direction on hyperscale data centre construction project (typically £200m+).Manage the full project lifecycle: pre-construction, design management, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client handover.Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for project performance, risk, and strategy.Oversee multidisciplinary teams including CSA, MEP, commissioning, and commercial functions, ensuring integration and collaboration across all workstreams.Ensure project governance, risk management, and reporting processes are in place and adhered to.Drive project financial performance, including cost control, variations, value engineering, and margin protection.Lead health, safety, and environmental culture across all project operations.Develop and mentor senior managers, project managers, and engineers within the team, creating a culture of high performance and accountability.Represent the company at client and stakeholder meetings, industry events, and project board reviews.Support business development by contributing to bids, tenders, and client relationship management. RequirementsProven track record as a Project Director, Project Lead or Contracts Manager delivering large-scale data centres or other complex construction projects.15+ years’ experience in major construction projects with a general contractor or design & build contractor.Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).Deep understanding of CSA and MEP delivery in complex, fast-track environments.Strong financial acumen and proven ability to manage large project budgets.Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to manage senior stakeholders.Strong leadership, mentoring, and organisational skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
