Senior Backend / Full Stack Developer Contract: 3 months initially, with a strong possibility of extension up to 12 months+Rate: Up to 250 Euros Per dayStart: October 2026Location: Remote Europe About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Backend / Full Stack Developer to join an established technology team working on a significant transformation and integration programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and integrating modern applications while working across existing legacy systems and surrounding technology environments. The position will have a strong backend focus, while still requiring the ability to contribute across the wider application stack when required. A key element of the project involves the integration and transition of SAP and Salesforce, alongside the development and maintenance of integration services and supporting platforms. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain robust backend applications and services.Work across both modern and legacy technology environments.Support the integration of SAP and Salesforce platforms.Develop and maintain event-driven and distributed systems using Kafka.Build and maintain APIs and system integrations. Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions. Contribute to architectural and technical discussions.Troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple systems.Support the modernisation of existing legacy applications and surrounding environments. Contribute to full-stack development where required, while maintaining a strong backend focus. Produce clean, maintainable and well-tested code.Work effectively within an established development team and wider project environment.Essential Experience5+ years' commercial software development experience. Strong backend development experience.Solid experience working with Java and/or relevant backend technologies.Experience working with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.Strong understanding of APIs, integrations and distributed systems. Experience working with legacy systems and complex surrounding environments.Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as SAP and Salesforce. Full-stack development experience, with a preference for candidates who are stronger on the backend.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Ideal CandidateWe're looking for someone who is technically strong but also comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment.You should be an easy-going, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make a positive first impression.
