Product Development | Production Readiness Design it well. Test it thoroughly. Help turn advanced electronics into reliable, production-ready products. Safegrid's Intelligent Grid System combines field-deployed IoT sensor devices with a cloud platform. This role focuses on the electronics inside those sensor products and on making sure new designs can be manufactured, tested and supported reliably. We are looking for an experienced electronics engineer who combines hands-on product development with strong production-readiness and test-engineering capability. This is a senior technical individual-contributor role with substantial ownership of electronics deliverables and production test readiness. Working with electronics, firmware and system engineering colleagues, engineering and program management, external development partners and contract manufacturers, you will take designs through verification and production release and help solve manufacturing, field-return and reliability issues systematically. What you will doDevelop, debug and improve analog and digital electronics, taking assigned designs from requirements through verification and production release.Define production test requirements, coverage and acceptance criteria, and develop or coordinate test equipment and automation with internal engineers and external partners.Drive the technical transfer of electronics into manufacturing, including specifications, documentation, pilot builds and production ramp-up, while supporting yield, test efficiency and product quality.Investigate field returns, manufacturing failures and reliability problems; establish root causes and implement verified corrective actions.Manage electronics changes and component substitutions, and collaborate with system engineering, firmware developers and partners to keep designs, test procedures and technical documentation production-ready. What we are looking forSubstantial hands-on experience developing electronic products and taking them into production.Strong practical skills in analog and digital electronics, schematic design, PCB design review, laboratory measurement and troubleshooting.Experience defining, developing, commissioning or maintaining production tests and test equipment, with a practical understanding of design for manufacture and test.Experience working directly with contract manufacturers or electronics manufacturing service providers.A systematic, evidence-based approach to troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.Familiarity with embedded firmware and test automation, together with clear technical communication and documentation skills and professional proficiency in English.Relevant engineering education or equivalent practical experience, with the ability to work independently while keeping colleagues informed about progress, risks and decisions. Useful experienceLow-noise analog circuits, sensors and signal conditioning; low-power or battery-powered devices; cellular connectivity or RF hardware; EMC, environmental testing and reliability engineering; automated measurement systems, production fixtures and Python or other test scripting; calibration, production-data analysis and statistical assessment of test limits and yield; industrial products for demanding outdoor environments; and higher-volume manufacturing.Experience in any of these areas is useful. The core of the role is strong electronics engineering combined with the discipline and follow-through needed to make products reproducible, testable and dependable in production. Location and working modelThe role is based in Turku, Finland and combines office-based engineering with regular hands-on laboratory work. Occasional work at manufacturing locations, test facilities, supplier or customer sites and outdoor/utility environments may be required, together with occasional travel within G&W Electric and to external partners.
