Senior Embedded Software Engineer — Agentic & Autonomous Development

The mission is to autonomously develop one or more iterations of a critical feature using agentic loops, with the goal of shipping by the end of the year. What You Will DoYour key responsibilities in this roleWhat You Will DoJoin an internal "AI Squad" carved out from the core R&D team and work directly on the company's production embedded systems.Autonomously develop one or more iterations of a critical feature using agentic loops (e.g. Ralph loops), targeting completion by year-end.Design and implement on Embedded Linux (Yocto) and RTOS platforms, ensuring reliable cloud integration through proprietary APIs.Bring existing (or newly developed) experience in agentic, looping software development into the team's continuous R&D workflow safely — including reviewing AI agent output, catching mistakes, and ensuring code quality before it reaches production.Collaborate closely with the core R&D team, building on the momentum already established with GitHub Copilot (last year) and Claude (this year) to mature the agentic development loop.Act as a technical bridge, helping the team distinguish genuine tool/platform limitations from gaps caused by implementation choices. What We Are Looking ForRequired skills and qualifications1. Technical ExperienceSenior-level experience with embedded systems — deep architectural understanding, not limited to isolated feature delivery.Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto in particular) and RTOS on real hardware targets.Solid background integrating embedded systems with external cloud/APIs (proprietary APIs, device-side network communication).A mindset suited to agentic development loops: observing, evaluating, and adjusting as an AI agent executes tasks, rather than only hand-coding from scratch.2. Project-Specific SkillsProficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded software development.Experience with (or fast willingness to adopt) AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code — beyond autocomplete, toward automated code → test → fix → repeat workflows.Ability to assess risk when integrating AI agents into the continuous R&D workflow of a real production system.3. LanguageEnglish and/or Finnish — sufficient for technical communication in a Finland-based work environment.4. You'll come into the office 2–3 days per week — enough to stay connected with the team — and work the rest of the time remotely. Core hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 1.5-hour lunch break built into the day. We find this rhythm gives people the focus time they need while keeping collaboration strong.
