Senior Product Development Engineer Passenger Vehicle Wheel End Europe - SKF Automotive Business The global Product Development team for Passenger Vehicle (PV) Wheel End is responsible for creating solutions that meet tomorrow’s requirements for passenger car wheel applications. We enable our Product Engineering teams by delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective technologies that can be confidently applied in customer projects worldwide. Key responsibilitiesLead as technical expert cross functional projectsContribute to the definition, planning, and execution of the product roadmapIdentify future market and customer needsExplore and evaluate new and emerging technologies, innovations, and opportunities relevant to wheel end applicationsPlan, lead, and execute product development projects from concept to implementationAct as a recognized “go-to” expert in defined technical areas by continuously building knowledge and actively sharing it within the engineering communitySupport and grow the intellectual property portfolio by identifying, screening, and protecting innovative ideasCoordinate development activities with research institutions, suppliers, customers, and external communitiesRepresent the company at customers, conferences, and public events through technical presentations Requirements Strong experience in wheel end bearing engineering (product and/or application-related)Good/strong understanding of product design on manufacturing feasibility and costLeadership mindset to identify the roots of challenges, lead the problem-solving process and take care to introduce solutionsProven track record in an expert field of wheel end engineeringTeam player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in diverse, international environmentsStructured and methodical working approachGood communication and collaboration skillsProactive problem-solving mindsetUnderstanding of structural simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS)Experience with Design for Six Sigma methodologies is a plusFluency in English, both written and spokenUniversity degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Mechatronics) or Physics You will enjoy working here if you…… Thrive on technical challenges and see undefined or open-ended problems as an opportunity rather than an obstacle.… Prefer working independently and self-driven basedwell defined and achievable targets… Appreciate working in an environment supported by highly motivated colleagues within the team and across a strong, collaborative engineering community.
