Solution Engineer, Europe — Pallet Shuttle ASRSLocation: Remote. You must be based in Europe, with regular presence at our Demo & Experience Centre in BelgiumCoverage: Western, Central and Eastern Europe |Travel: 40–50% | Reports to: VP Overseas Business This position is remote and the candidate may be based anywhere in Europe. The roleYou are the technical authority for company across Europe, supporting three regional business development managers in Western, Central and Eastern Europe. Around 60% of your time is spent with our integrator partners: designing alongside their engineers, training their teams, and giving them the confidence to put our system into their customer's building. The rest is spent directly with end users, running discovery and presenting the solution.The role is remote, and design work is done wherever you are. Our Demo & Experience Centre in Belgium is your most important instrument and you will be there regularly: you will run it as a working technical environment rather than a showroom, configured to the scenarios our customers actually care about, and use it to close the credibility gap that a European buyer will otherwise close by choosing an incumbent. You will design the systems we sell in Europe, and you will stand behind the numbers you commit to.What you will doDesign end-to-end pallet shuttle solutions: rack configuration, shuttle and lift counts, aisle and level layout, cycle time modelling and throughput validationProduce layouts in AutoCAD from concept through to the detail needed for a firm quotationAnalyse customer operational data — inbound and outbound profiles, SKU and pallet velocity, seasonality, growth assumptions — and translate it into a sized systemOwn the cost estimate for the offered scope and coordinate design and cost validation with our engineering team in Asia through to formal approvalRun the Belgium Demo & Experience Centre as a technical asset: configure it for customer scenarios, lead demonstrations alongside the regional business development managers, and deliver partner training there, travelling to it as often as the commercial calendar requiresTrain and certify partner engineering teams across all three regions on the company product line, and act as their first point of technical escalationLead technical discovery on site with end users: walk the floor, watch the operation, challenge the assumptions in the briefDefine the integration scope against the customer's existing WMS, WES or WCS, and manage the interface conversationWrite the technical sections of proposals and tender responses, including functional descriptions, performance commitments and the CE conformity and standards content that European tenders require as a matter of coursePresent solutions and business cases to technical and executive audiences at both partners and end users, in a market where the technical review is often the decisive stageHand over won projects to execution with a complete design and documentation package What you bring5+ years in solution design or pre-sales engineering within warehouse automation, material handling or intralogisticsA master's degree in industrial, mechanical or systems engineering, supply chain or a related technical field, or equivalent depth demonstrated through experienceStrong AutoCAD 2D layout capability. You can take a project from concept sketch to quotation-grade drawing without helpThe ability to build a throughput model from raw customer data and defend the result under scrutiny, including in front of a customer's own planning engineersWorking knowledge of WMS, WES and WCS integration, and the confidence to scope an interfacePractical knowledge of CE marking, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the incoming Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, and how conformity is evidenced in a European tender responseFluent English. Dutch, French or German is strongly preferred, and a second European language is an advantage given the regional coverageExperience explaining and teaching your designs to other engineers, not only presenting them to customersWillingness to travel 40 to 50% to customer and partner sites across Europe, including regular visits to our Demo & Experience Centre in BelgiumThe self-direction to hold a technical function on your own, remotely, without an engineering office around youThe right to work in the European Union, in the country in which you are based Nice to haveDirect experience with pallet shuttle, deep-lane or other high-density pallet ASRSSimulation tools: Demo3D, FlexSim, AutoMod or Emulate3DCold storage projects, and an understanding of what low temperature does to batteries, lubrication and condensationFamiliarity with EN 528 for rail-dependent storage and retrieval equipment, EN 15512 and EN 15620 for steel static storage racking, and the relevant FEM guidelinesSQL or Python for operational data analysisExperience commissioning or operating a demonstration or test facilityMandarin speaking is a plus to communicate with China counterpart What we offerA fully remote role.
