The Higher Education Group (HEG), part of the Administrative Studies Unit in the Faculty of Management and Business, invites applications for a University Instructor position. The position is part-time (70%) and fixed-term for three years.

Job Description

The position is based in the Degree Programme in Administrative Studies, with teaching responsibilities in the MARIHE Master’s Programme. HEG conducts research on higher education administration and management. Its research and teaching focus on higher education and science policy; the governance, management and funding of higher education institutions, and higher education policy evaluation.

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Administrative Studies Unit and HEG. The University Instructor will be responsible for teaching and delivering the following courses in the MARIHE Master’s Programme: “Digital Transformation of Higher Education and Research”, “Research and Transfer Management”, “Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Education”, and “Higher Education and Societal Challenges”.

The University Instructor will also contribute to the implementation of HEG’s projects “Strengthening Expertise in Crisis Management for Robust Higher Education” (SECURE) and “Gender-Inclusive Strategies for Ethical and Effective Use of Generative AI in Higher Education” (GENWISE). Teaching duties include lectures, seminars, supervision of group assignments and other small-group teaching. The University Instructor is also expected to conduct research relevant to HEG’s field and contribute to securing external funding as part of the research group’s activities. The position may also involve limited societal engagement duties.

A master’s degree from relevant field. Strong expertise in the subject areas of the courses to be taught. Good or excellent teaching skills and the proven ability to teach in English. Good collaboration and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of project work and securing external funding.

Successful performance in the position requires motivation to develop teaching in the field through research-informed and pedagogical approaches. Studies in university pedagogy and teaching experience at the advanced studies level will be taken into account in the selection process. A doctoral degree relevant to the position, substantial progress towards a doctoral degree, and other evidence of research and societal engagement is considered an advantage.

We offer a part-time (70%) position from 1 November 2026 to 31 December 2029. A trial period of six months applies to all our new employees. Please note that the selected candidate must be residing in Finland when the position begins on 1 November 2026, as the position requires regular on-campus presence.

The salary will be determined in accordance with the salary system for teaching and research staff at Finnish universities. The preliminary job requirement level for the University Instructor position is 5-6. In addition, a salary component based on personal performance will be paid. Typical starting monthly salary in this position is around 3900 - 4100 € (when working full time).

Johtamisen ja talouden tiedekunnan hallintotieteiden yksikköön kuuluvassa HEG-ryhmässä on haettavana yliopisto-opettajan tehtävä. Tehtävä on osa-aikainen (70 %) ja määräaikainen kolmen vuoden ajalle.

Tehtävän kuvaus

Tehtävä sijoittuu hallintotieteiden tutkinto-ohjelmaan ja sen opetustehtävät liittyvät MARIHE-maisteriohjelman toteutukseen. HEG-ryhmän alana on korkeakouluhallintoon ja -johtamiseen liittyvä tutkimus. HEG-ryhmän toteuttamassa tutkimuksessa ja koulutuksessa keskitytään korkeakoulu- ja tiedepolitiikkaan, korkeakoulujen hallintoon, johtamiseen ja rahoitukseen sekä korkeakoulupolitiikkaan ja sen arviointiin.

Valittava henkilö työskentelee osana hallintotieteiden yksikköä ja HEG-ryhmää. Yliopisto-opettajan tehtävänä on MARIHE-maisteriohjelman kurssien ”Digital Transformation of Higher Education and Research”, ”Research and Transfer Management”, ”Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Education”, ja ”Higher Education and Societal Challenges” opetuksesta ja toteutuksesta vastaaminen. Lisäksi yliopisto-opettaja osallistuu HEG:n hankkeiden ”Strengthening Expertise in Crisis Management for Robust Higher Education” (SECURE) ja ”Gender-Inclusive Strategies for Ethical and Effective Use of Generative AI in Higher Education (GENWISE) toteutukseen. Opetustehtävät muodostuvat luento- ja seminaariopetuksesta, ryhmätöiden ohjauksesta ja muusta pienryhmille annettavasta opetuksesta. Yliopisto-opettaja odotetaan harjoittavan myös HEG-ryhmän alaan liittyvää tutkimusta ja ulkopuolisen rahoituksen hankkimista osana tutkimusryhmän toimintaa. Tehtävä voi sisältää myös pienimuotoisia yhteiskunnallisen vuorovaikutuksen rooleja.

Edellytykset

Tehtävään hakevalta edellytetään

soveltuvaa ylempää korkeakoulututkintoa vahvaa asiantuntijuutta opetettavien kurssien alueeltahyvää tai erinomaista opetustaitoa sekä kykyä opettaa englannin kielellähyviä yhteistyö- ja vuorovaikutustaitoja aiempaa kokemusta hanketoiminnasta ja ulkopuolisen rahoituksen hankkimisesta.

Yliopisto-opettajan tehtävän menestyksellinen hoitaminen edellyttää motivaatiota kehittää tutkimuksellisesti ja pedagogisesti tehtävänalan opetusta. Yliopistopedagogiset opinnot ja opetuskokemus syventävien opintojen tasolla otetaan huomioon yliopisto-opettajaa valittaessa. Tehtävän alan kannalta relevantti tohtorintutkinto, pitkälle edenneet jatko-opinnot sekä muut tutkimukseen ja yhteiskunnalliseen vuorovaikutukseen liittyvät näytöt katsotaan hakijalle eduksi.

Tarjoamme

Tarjoamme osa-aikaista (70 %) työsuhdetta ajalle 1.11.2026-31.12.2029. Tehtävässä sovelletaan työsopimuslain mukaista kuuden kuukauden koeaikaa.

Tehtävän palkkaus määräytyy yliopistojen opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön palkkausjärjestelmän mukaisesti. Tehtävän alustava vaativuustaso on yliopisto-opettajalla 5-6. Lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen työstä suoriutumiseen perustuvaa palkanosaa. Tyypillinen kokonaispalkka tehtävässä on noin 3900 - 4100€ kuukaudessa (kokoaikaisessa tehtävässä).
