Design Lead

The Role We're looking for a driven, hands-on Design Lead to steer design delivery on complex engineering and construction projects. You'll coordinate across Electrical, HVAC, Piping, and CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) disciplines — keeping design, construction, procurement, and project execution teams pulling in the same direction. This is a role for someone who can read a room as well as a BIM model: technically sharp, commercially aware, and comfortable being the person who unblocks a stalled project. Key Responsibilities: Design CoordinationRun multidisciplinary design coordination and review meetingsDig into BIM models to catch clashes and interface issues before they become site problemsKeep design deliverables locked to project schedules and construction milestonesBe the connective tissue between discipline leads, site teams, and project management Project LeadershipDrive design progress and clear obstacles before they cause delaysOwn the tracker: actions, risks, decisions, open itemsFlag critical issues early and bring solutions, not just problems Stakeholder ManagementBuild genuine working relationships, internally and externallyTranslate fluently between technical and non-technical audiencesKeep design intent, construction reality, and project goals aligned Design Decision-MakingWeigh every design call against cost, schedule, procurement, constructability, and installation sequencingPush for solutions that are coordinated and actually buildable — not just clever Requirements: A degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Construction, Building Services, BIM, or similarExperience in multidisciplinary design environmentsSolid grounding in at least one of: Electrical, HVAC, Piping, or CSAWorking knowledge of BIM and 3D model coordinationProfessional-level English communicationThe ability to herd multiple disciplines toward one outcomeExposure to large-scale construction, industrial, infrastructure, pharma, or data center projects
